TFA RY4 Double

So I made a small 5ml batch of this for the first time a few days ago mixing at 10%. I've been letting it steep and it still tastes chemically with a caramel-ish aftertaste, so how long is this stuff supposed to steep? Also, what's the flavor supposed to taste like? If it's anything like the smell then it should be delicious

Mine was much better after 4 weeks than it was immediately after mixing.

You added to much try 5% or pour 2.5ml of that mix into another bottle and add 2.5 mils of base to dilute it. This particular ry4 does need 3 weeks to steep. I myself made it at 7% and found it to strong and chemical tasting but it did loose the chemical taste after 3 weeks but to me it was still to caramelly sweet..

I went by the TFA flavoring thread for the recommended %, guess with this one less is more huh? I'll try that, thanks for the info

I like sweets more than tobacco, so 10% was fine for me, even better with some caramel added (similar to TC1's receipe http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-liquid-recipes/350112-rwhy4-my-new-all-day-vape.html)

3 weeks? Jeez lol, well I'll try what Danny told me and dilute it down to 5% and let it steep. If I like it then I'll probably make a large batch so that I don't run out of it

Remember taste is subjecive however I tried it at 5% andit was way to weak, 10% is good for me and some are using it at up to 20%. I use an industrial rated ultrasonic unit so weeks of steeping were not required.

Note : Some RY4s I use at 4% but not this one.

10% and 4 weeks for me. I'd suggest pulling one ml and diluting that for testing.

I'm playing with adding TA to it to get a tobacco note in there that seems to be missing. Maybe some Hangsens like T5 or something else dry. A little EM and ACV and you can play around with Graham Cracker, Toasted Almond and I've been wanting to use some of the Peanut Butter I got. This is a modified Tribeca clone that no longer really resembles Tribeca. Needs more steeping though. Gave up on this flavor by itself. Doesn't hold up in tanks. Too light for me.

50/50 PG/VG 12% NIC total from 48ml/mg base - all measurements in ml and drops

3.75 NIC
3.75 VG
5.8 PG
1.5 RY4 Double
3 drops toasted almond
5 drops graham cracker
6 drops EM
3 drops AP
3 drops TA solution (4 drops to 10 ml PG)
3 drops ACV

I have just about given up on the TFA RY4 Double; I think it is much too heavy tasting with the suggested percentages. 2-5% might just work!

What does the RY4 Double - TPA flavoring smell like to others? My freshly opened bottle smells somewhat 'anisey' and perhaps a bit chemically. I detect no caramel in the smell at all.
Was wondering what other's are experiencing with this flavoring's smell.

RY4 Nutty

6% RY4 double (TPA)
2% Caramel (TPA)
2% Dulce de Leche (TPA)
1% Tobacco Absolute Blend (PG) (TPA)
1% Acetyl Pyrazine (TPA)

Mixed 60/40 PG/VG

Here's my 4x4 recipe (my all day vape)

RY4 Double - 6%
Caramel Original - 3%
Bavarian Cream - 3%
French Vanilla - 1.5%
Hazelnut - 1.5%

Put it in a glass bottle and heat it at 170 deg. for 3 hrs. Leave it uncapped overnight and it's ready to go in the morning.
