Nope. All the pre-built Smok coils are Kanthal and only suitable for wattage mode.
Thanks! So, is there any reason the Alien even has the Temp mode? (I don't know of any coils for it that are Nickel or titanium). I am more curious than anything else. Wattage mode is fine (the simpler the better!).
Btw- I just switched out the Q2 coil for the T8. Huge difference! Love this T8 coil.
I have an Aspire SubOhm with an Atlantis tank coming soon.
Will the difference be dramatic between that and the Baby Beast on the Alien?
Thanks!

You can use any tank/topper on the Alien with SS coils or you can make your own SS coils in the available RBA for the TFV8 Baby and use temp control.

I've only used the Q2 and X4 coils so far in my Baby Beasts as I like to keep my vaping at 50w and under.

That was my main curiousity about temp control - since bigger tanks run optimally at 80 and above. I, like you, am more comfortable in 40-60 range. I think the optimal range for the Cloud Beast starts at 120! (i don't dig on hot vapes)
I may add the Big Baby Beast because it can hold more juice though...(And uses the exact same coils as the Baby)

Im using the q2 at 40w an its been great but ive chain vaped all day an my batteries are charging, gonna get spare ones pay day as this alien is now my favourite mod :)
Contrary to some reports I've read about issues recharging the Alien by USB, it is just fine.
Mine did not even get remotely warm, and the charging was completely balanced between both batteries.
(Just make sure you use a standard iphone-style block 5V 1A wall plug)
I charged it during the day, and unplugged it when it got to 100%, so I didn't let it go overnight.
This is the best comprehensive review about the Alien:

Agree.
So many variables. (Are they talking about an early model?, an old firmware?, are they just being stupid?)

Yeah what are they talking about is right! Sometimes people say things that are so outlandish to believe because they saw it in a video review so right there is is second hand information but I have the device and have never experienced any of the problems or noticed the flaws they claim.

Yeah - a guy on one site claimed the Alien "heated up and he had to take out the batteries and put it in the freezer" from recharging by USB was a just being stupid. He had NOT used a standard 5V 1A phone charger but ANOTHER charger that went up to 10V! (Without being able to recognize or regulate what was being plugged into it).
So far, just like with anything else, I READ everything, and watch the videos and you will get a sense of what is correct.
(Plus, it is always great if your local Vape shop has a really knowledgeable staff. (Mine does)).
Just got a few new Juices in the mail today!
Myee, Mosa and Apple Butter Biscuit!

Yeah like the video I watched about the charger I have and the person demonstrating it melted a plastic mat he had underneath it! Since I got it I have monitored the temperature of it and the batteries which barely get 10 degrees warmer than room temperature.
Since these have powerful batteries, it is just common sense to monitor any charging. It's not an ipod you hook up and leave for 3 days! Common sense.:)
