hi folks,

i'm quite new to vaping, but i decided to make the switch to RBA early, since i don't wanna waste money on coils.

that's why i got my local shop to order a RBA base for my X-Baby tank:

https://www.gearbest.com/vapor-accessories/pp_621955.html?wid=1433363

by accident i found that there's also a 0,35 ohm RBA specifically for the X-Baby:

https://www.gearbest.com/accessories/pp_695196.html?wid=1433363

so now i'm really confused ... TFV8 = Cloud Beast AND X-Baby ?? so everything labeled TFV8 works for both?? will the RBA in the fist link even work with my X-Baby? or should i get the RBA specifically made for the X-Baby?

the coil i'm using right now is a 0,25ohm dual coil (M2) and i like to vape between 30-40 watts

sorry if i missed to provide neccesary information...as i said, i'm new and quite confused :D

cheers

The TFV8 has two main types: Standard and Baby.

The two types of tank uses different types of coils.

The Baby type exists in two distinct subtypes, Tfv8 Baby and TFV8 Big Baby.

They uses the same coils, but the capacity and airflow are different.

Now, come the X type. The X tank has top airflow, and the airflow is routed thru the coil, which has an extra external channel.

The X tank is an really a Baby-X. Basically, has the size of a Big Baby with the capacity of a Baby.

The Baby-X coils are unique to the Baby-X tank. Same thing apply to the X-RBA deck, which include an air channel.

All the above, before factoring in the EU TPD variations.

The RBA for the Cloud Beast and the X-Baby are two very different things.

Many people, including vape dealers, are often unaware of the wild variety of different Smok tanks and their ancillaries, like glasses and RBA decks.

Hi and Welcome,
IMO, avoid: SMOK products.

If you want to rebuild, get a proper RTA.
It will save you weeks of frustration and may actually provide a satisfying, consistent vape experience.

Perhaps a Top Air flow RTA for leak resistance? Top air RTAs

Cheers

The X Baby and Cloud Beast are two completely different tanks and the RBAs are NOT interchangeable.

Here's a link to the RBA for the X-baby:

TFV8 X-Baby RBA Deck - Stainless Steel

This is a decent RBA actually, the X-Baby with the top airflow, is a pretty good tank with the X-Baby RBA.

However, as mentioned, if you are interested in rebuildables, you would be better off in my opinion to research top airflow RTAs (link @Izan provided above) and pick one or ask questions to narrow down which one might be best for you.

Rebuildable RBAs aren't the easiest to learn off if you're a new builder because the build decks are often cramped/small in the RBAs. Not bad to work with if you are using reasonable sized coils, but I often find them to be more picky with wicking as well.

Maybe look at getting the Zeus, Intake, Solomon 2, Serpent Elevate, etc. Take a look at the thread above. Lots of good top air rebuildables available. A single coil RTA will vape much better than any premade coil tanks, and better than most dual coil RBAs in my opinion. I would suggest starting with a single coil RTA since you are new to building.

I understand not wanting to 'waste money' and continue to use your X-Baby by just getting an RBA for it, but for a bit more, you can just buy a dedicated RTA that will be easier to work with. Keep your X-Baby as a backup tank, but maybe consider getting an RTA instead? If you buy the RBA and it doesn't work out, then you have wasted that money. I like having RBAs in case I can't get coils for a tank later, but a dedicated RTA will build/wick easier, and vape much better IMO.
