has anyone else had issues with the authentic velocity deck rba? Went to build it and first it worked enough to make one coil glow then nothing. Now it either won't read or it reads shorted on all my mods I tried changing the coils making sure there was no wire stuck in it somewhere nope nothing. I took it apart I'm not a fan of posts that stack over one another and still can't get it to do anything. Does anyone have any ideas?

I just got a SmokTech vaporizer that comes with a SMOK TFV8 Big Baby Beast: I CAN BUY A DECK OR THESMOKTech TF-RTA G2 Dual Post , right now
I'm just using the tank that came with it with nickel atomizers.
I did a lot of coil building with nickel wire, I was going to change to stainless but I have problems with the resistance changing on the coils, I'll probably go back to nickel. I once had a very small piece of wire shorting the coil out. I'd take the whole thing apart
inspect and clean it then try it again. Make sure the bottom screw where it screws in is tight.

I just put a nickel coil in a RBA for the Eleaf, A simple 20 turn 28 gauge, the whole thing shorted a glow at the legs, I stretched it out and fired so it would glow, took a few tries to get the whole thing burnt. Same with the other coil and then wicked. So the Eleaf has a .15 ohm coil and works fine, still working this morning. I tried the notch coil and liked it, the problem was getting it to fit in the RBA. I'm spending most of my time with the Smoketech, lots of nice features, nice for the home, a lower power single battery one would perfect for caring around.

Some decks are good and others are garbage. I kinow a couple friends that got bad ones that don't work. Replacements are next to impossible to find and the main reason I never bought a V8 nor will I buy the V12. Went to Geek Vape rebuildables and since gave away all my Smok V4's and never looked back.

I had two of the Vaperesso tanks up and working, the third tank had pretty bad problems and I began thinking it was a bad tank. Since it sounded like a wicking problem I decided to try changing wicking. I removed the standard wicking I had bought for this project and replaced it with cotton yarn and cotton ball cotton. Problem is gone and it works great.

OK I just bought a Smok Alien kit and the Big Baby tank because I wanted to try building coils. It came with installed coils. First time slapped it in short message on screen. Took it all apart washed it same thing screen saying ohms too low. Third time is a charm worked until I filled it with juice then it said short on screen. Put the baby beast on vaped that for while. Put the big baby back on worked for a bit. Then I was hitting it it got really hot in about 1.5 seconds and cracked the glass.YA that hot that quick. I took it apart and this is what I found

sorry for the bad pic but you can see where it shorted out, the black spot @ 11 o'clock. It seem to me that the deck is screwing into the base too far, or it bottom of the deck is too thick. I fixed it with a file and sand paper by filing the deck.

I flied everthing but the middle circle. Would work great if I had a glass because the the rba take a bigger glass and Smok doesn't have any out yet. :( So I ordered a Griffin 25 plus RTA and a min Black Horse RDA not going to build on the big baby any time soon. I can't see me buying any tank from them again. Too many other better things out there.

Hot enough to break the glass so it sounds like a serious short. I've used the big baby with a nickel atomizer in temp mode and it has pretty good vape and flavor. The G Priv 220 comes with a spare glass tube for the tank. The Vaperesso also comes with a spare tank. After buying tanks and making coils I got into making my own liquid and can finally get something that is similar to tobacco, much more flavor an it should pay for itself.

I had problems starting out with the Smok tanks. Found 2 things going on I was not doing very well. 1. juice down in the 510, and don't ask me how it got there :<0) 2. Preheating the claptons and adjusting them to perfection on a Coil Master 510. I now have working RTA s in Baby, Big Baby, and The Beast. Going to try to fit some notched coils in the TFV8 next. It's going to be close but they might fit.

For most DIY supplies I use RTSVapes, they have the PG, VG and nicotine and also go into the concentrated flavors.
There is also a Ejuice me UP calculator you can download and play around with to get an idea of how much of each you should be buying. ECF has a tobacco flavor section.
Thank you :)

Getting use to these tanks and decks takes time and patience, what size and ohm coil, wicking ect. You have to keep at it and learn from your mistakes. I've read that PG is thinner and carries the flavor, VG is thicker and produces the vapor. I use 80% PG and 20% VG, and get plenty of flavor and vapor. I agree the decks seem very small.

It leaks through the positive wire lead under the rubber gromit. Make sure both leads at the bottom of the coil head are tucked and that your gromit and 510 pin are flush and sealed.

Make sure you do a proper very snug screw down and it will not leak.

GL

Ps...the stock coils all have this problem. There are 2 notches at the bottom of the head but the leads are rarely aligned or inserted into these notches. You annoy move the leads into the notches because you will end up distorting the coil itself thus ruining it.

The big baby beast tank comes in today, it includes a RBA deck and atomizers so I'll have a spare tank and atomizers to keep the vaporizer going, I've had the vaporizer since the end of January and just guessing the coils still seem okay. I would have liked to order more atomizers but I didn't find them till after I had my order in.
