While talking about the NY Ban bill and propositions, my father and I talked about the grand scheme of cigarettes and the government. He not only agrees that most of the cessation devices are not likely to work, but that banning the e-cigarettes because of false or misinterpreted information is absolutely horrible. He knows second-hand (no pun intended) that the e-cigarette has worked for me and my best friend (Brat is her username on here).

Here's why I'm thankful that we have e-cigarettes, but I wish they were invented a while ago. I never knew this, but my uncle tried to use the patch. He died when I was 4 or 5, on Valentine's Day, on his way home to see my aunt and my cousins. My family is almost 100% positive that he died trying to quit with the patch. Although the doctors never confirmed this, they apparently heavily hinted that the patch was what killed him. I am crying as I type this, seeing that losing my Uncle Joe was something that really scared and saddened me as a child, and still scares me to this day. My father didn't tell me this, and I had tried the patch a few years back. Within JUST a half an hour, I was puking until I took it off, and was sick for three days. There's no true way to control the nicotine dosage. Even removing it does NOT stop the nicotine from going into our bodies until it leaves our system. With e-cigarettes, not only is there a way to control what dosage of nicotine a person can have, but HOW much of that dosage as well.

The fact that the government and tobacco industries have cessation devices is simply fraudulence. Why would I purchase anything to stop me from smoking if most governing administrations rely on tax money from cigarette purchases? It seems like a vicious cycle of failure and/or death.

Sorry if this seems more like a rant, but I felt that this was an important thing for me to share with the ECF community. We are a very strong group and it is truly a miracle that I have found this forum. I am proud not only to vape, but to know that I will not give in to cigarettes/government greed anymore.

R.I.P. Uncle Joe... I wish you had the chance to see the e-cigarette, but I know you're proud that I have quit smoking. I miss you and I will vape proudly in your name.
