OK so.. My name is jeff im 33 y.o. and im addicted to analogs! haha. seriously though this is my story of how i came to learn of this wonderful world of vapor...
Before i begin though i would like to thank all of you who have posted reviews, gave insite, explained to all of us in great detail how things work, and most of all how you all stick together and let us noobs ask the same questions over and over again.. It is much appreciated!

ok so here i am about a week and a half ago sitting on me .... at home with me lad bugging me to watch more sponge bob. I turn on the t.v. for my boy and procede to dink around on the computer. I go to craigslist becuase its the right proper thing to do when your bored. So i come across the general section and i notice the first thing posted is this handy like plastic contraption that looks like a smoke. I say wow very cool and continue to read. I learn its an E-cigarette, and that it vaporizes these liquid filled cartriges. Take the nic fit away and supposedly taste really good. So i email the guy and say i would like to try it. He was giving it away free supposedly because his wife got preg and didnt want it. Well someone snatched it before i did, So he sends me an email with the link to the "FREE" e-cig that she got. It was a smokeverywhere basic e-cig. Ya know the one that you get free and if you dont send back in 14 days they charge your card 100$ and 49$ every month for supplies? So being the investigator that i am i read the terms and conditions of the offer and sent him an email back saying... " i hope you didnt give it away because you will be repeatedly charged unless you cancel" I got an email back and thats when i realized that this "guy" was just an automated thing tryin to get people to the site.

So anyway I peaked alot of curiosity on my part simply because i've tried all the proper ways of quiting analogs. Patches, gums, inhaler, you name it except chantix cuz i kinda like my life and dont really feel like ending it prematurely on my own (except with analogs of course ;) .. I think my problem is i really like the smoking part, the holding the cig, the smoke, the physical attributes of actually smoking.. I hate the smell, the fading white teeth etc..

When i saw this e-cig thing i was like, wow it looks intresting! so upon further investigation i found an e-cig called BLU. Looked way cool with its blue led and i said i gotta have it! Maybe just maybe i will be able to knock 5 or 6 analogs off my daily 1 and 1/2 packs and slow down the effects of black tarry lungs just a wee bit. Wasnt satisfied with my investigation so i continued before i ordered.. I then learned there was FLAVORS! wow now im getting excited, also that there was 50 bazillion different types of e-cig.

Now my excitement is mixed with confusion.. im torn. Is this a mini hookah type thing? is even smoke? i mean vapor is not smoke but how come when you exhale smoke comes out? Wow i was lost and confused, but still wanted very much to try one.

end part one...

Now im lost, confused, excited, and stressed so i light up a smoke and continue my qwest for knowlege.. I some how miraculously stumble across this website call e-cigarette forum. What a life saver!

I cannot begin to explain the time i've put in lurking and reading and learning about everything in this wonderful forum. You guys are great! you showed me the way. from JD's intesting views and helpful hints to crashes awesome liquid reviews! And all of you in between.. the TGWTF guy and sadukogirl and the other women, name starts with an N.. I now know the diff between a 801, a janty stick, a 510 and a 901.. i know what an atty is, and how they work.

I have been on the site for a week and a half reading untill 2 somtimes 3 in the morning.. i went over every supplier in the list, read reviews, Now i am still a wee bit confused on a few things but as they come up i will be sure to post and im sure you guys will help me.. so thank you in advance.

Now for the good news! i ordered my 510 yesterday hoping to have it in my hot little hands tomarow! Not sure if im allowed to say this but, i got it from jason at electronicstix.. awesome guy! i ordered my kit and forgot to get some liquid and carts. I went back on not 20 mins later and asked if i could add on to my order and it was already off to the post office! i was amazed!
Im really hopeing that i can eliminate my analog habit or atleast cut in waaaay back for my sons sake and my health.. If anyone has some tips for me on how to get break in an atty properly i would be more then happy to hear them also.

so heres a bit bout me.. i started smoking at the age of 16 i currently smoke about a pack and half a day unless im drinking a nice iced glass of glenfiddich! I was in the military.. Marine Corps to be exact. I fought and i lost.. and im telling you there is no better place in the world to light up a cig then somwhere you think a bomb my be droped on your head.. or the prayer cig in a convoy hopeing you get through the whole thing before some crap I.E.D. blows it outta your face! ahhh the good ole days.. HA anywho. i live in boise id and cant wait to join your ranks! Thanks a whole bunch guys! you all rock.. and to any military vets or members.. we are all special! You will not be forgotten!

    Somewhere between here and there
I was in about the same situation four or five months ago. I am 38 and was smoking the same amount when I saw a short story on the local news. I remembered that story about a month later and started researching online when I found this forum. The people here are great and are always willing to help. I have been vaping about 3-4 months now. One thing I can tell you is that you will feel much better in a short period of time when you start cutting out some of the analogs.

Hey Jeff, Welcome and thanks for your service. Yep, this place is the bomb! Lots of info and people willing to help. I too got my 501 from Jason, great service and fast shipping. Please keep us posted on your experience. I'm now on 14 days without an analog and never wnat to go back, the smell of one now is more than enough to keep me away. I smoked for 43 years and the 501 made it easy to change, never thought I'd ever say that. LOL I have converted my son-in-law and my daughter, they converted a friend of thiers, little ripples that just keep on expanding. I LOVE not smelling of smoke anymore (never knew that it was so disgusting). I love sitting at my desk and not having to brave the elements, the wind here in Oregon can really rip (yesterday we had gusts up to 45mph).

    Anyway, Welcome.

I'm a vet to, from 35 yrs ago.

Anyway, I got into this about a month ago, accidently noticed the Healthy E-cigarette on Amazon.com. Gave it a shot...it seems to work fine.

Futher; I had three packs of ultra lites left from my last carton...I was up to three packs a day because I switched from lites to ultralites. So, I got three of those E-cigarette packs. During the two weeks I smoked the E-cigarettes I only smoked those three packs of ultralites...no more and didn't really 'need' more. Now, for the last two weeks I haven't smoked any .... logs<grin>.

Finally, you remember those long nights, in civilian life, when you went to bed with only two or three cigarettes there...you woke up at 1am, smoked all three cigarettes, then had to get up and drive to town to get more? I remember that. Well, I've got a small store just three buildings from me and still haven't gone after any 'real' cigarettes.

The point is, don't try to make yourself stop...you will naturally displace regular cigarettes for these E-cigarettes without even realizing it. The difference between the two seems to fade in a week or two.

I want to remind you, if a cigarette was sitting in front of me...I'd probably smoke it, because I remember them still......nevertheless, I don't remember them fondly enough to go three buildings down the street to get them--much less in the middle of the night all the way to town.

See the difference--give yourself a couple of months.

Welcome Jeff! I am also awaiting my first shipment and I can't wait. Every time I light up I think to myself, pretty soon I'll be vaping instead of smoking! I also ended up here after researching a smoking everywhere advertisement that seemed to good to be true lol. It seemed the intelligent thing to do rather than just go off half cocked and order one, especially when I have a really tight budget. It will be fun to compare notes when we get our own ecig! I've been reading the threads in this forum for some time now and I'm ready to participate with my own experiences rather than just asking questions about everyone else's. I can't wait to see the ripple effect around me. I have never seen one of these contraptions up close and I know it's going to generate a lot of curiosity from my analog smoking friends. Cheers!

Welcome to ECF and you are in for a whole new experience. It's not like smoking, so don't get discouraged at first. It is, however, a true delight to run out of cigs, pick up your PV and realize it's not a big deal. No nic-fit, no skin-crawling sensations, no agitation, just vapor. It really fills the gap if you are getting the nicotine you're craving. I've been vaping for about two months now exclusively and I just plain don't want a cigarette. I don't want my house or my person smelling like stale smoke again, I don't want to start coughing or get back on 4 doses of antihistamine a day, don't want to get winded from taking flights of stairs...all that and more make me love my e-cig. I can visit nonsmoking places for hours at a time and not bolt for the door for my fix. For the first time in my life I'm not a slave to smoking! Best of luck and don't let any little snags deter you from working it out. You'll be so much the better for it!

first off thanks a ton for your time in.. 35 yrs ago was a pretty rough time. WOW thats amazing going from 3 packs a day to 4-5 weeks later nothing? all without actually forcing yourself to not to smoke. I totally understand about the 1am thing, that just sux!.. i also see what your saying about making myself stop.. I think ill just enjoy it and have some fun and learn as much as i can.

pandora! my new vapin buddy! i am in the same situation.. tight budget and not fly off the handle and just start smacking the submit button. I just wanted to make sure i got the best for my money. i know somtimes you get what you pay for but that doesnt seem the case most of the time for some of these "starter kits".
Send me a PM and we can compare flavors and tips and what you've learned and what i've learned.. I should be getting mine tomarrow bout 11am or so.. let me know when you get yours.. The ripple effect is going to be awesome. i have a friend who smokes like a chimney i cant wait to see what happens. I also have never touched one or seen one in person. I feel like a 10 y.o. on xmas eve! KIT!

Jeff, thanks for your service to us! I'm so glad you're back home and with a son and the life after analogs. I wish they'd had these 510's when I was 33! Count your blessings. You're gonna love it, and love life a lot more for it. Good luck and many more blessings! :D
