I've been reading this forum for a few days now researching which PV to start with, and I want to say that I'm glad it exists! I think I'd be a bit lost without it!

I think I'm going to go with a Smokeless Image Volt, but they don't have much in stock at the moment so I'll have to wait it out, and also I'm having trouble with their free shipping offer. Originally I decided on the Joye 510, as that seems to be widely available in Australia, but I kept researching anyway and changed my mind (about a hundred times) since. Finally have settled on the Volt, though I was considering the Bloog and Vapor King as they are similar, before I discovered that some vendors are gouging on shipping. Being an Aussie is kind of annoying, because every time I think I've found a good deal, the store doesn't ship here at all or wants to charge $25-$30 for shipping that would easily cost less than half that. >.<

At least I won't have to deal with customs issues as I'm going straight to nic-free juice (let's just say my urge to smoke has nothing to do with nicotine...) and it seems there's quite a few good local suppliers for that. I know the vast majority of people would have started with vaping to replace cigarettes, but I'm guessing there must be others who are coming to it from smoking other things than nicotine? Anyone else just in it for the tasty clouds of vapor?

I don't think vaping will be more than a couple of times a day for me, if that, but my hope is that it will remove any temptation of the illogical desire to set dried plants on fire near my face!

Anyway, that's my intro, and I'm very thankful for this wonderful forum! ^_^

You could check more reasonable UK/Australian/Chinese vendors for KR808D-1 (I recommend manual batteries) - same threading as the 3 you listed, same as Vapor4Life.

Or look at Joye 510 manuals, both the short-charge standard size and the long mega xl (128mm long 2/ a cartomizer, almost a cm longer than standard KR808D-1). I use those with Boge blank cartomizers (you have to sue the standard resistance blanks on slim batteries). And the super-long-charge compatible models are Ego and Riva 510 (those 2 can use standard or LR cartomizers). I get good reuse out of Boge cartos with thin (all PG or high PG) juices.

If you can find a place that sells the Vapor King without ridiculous shipping charges, I would personally recommend that. I use Vapor4Life and they use Vapor King products and I absolutely love them. Vapor4Life has lots of free shipping deals too, even for international shipping (for over $100, I think). And they have great customer service. However, I also have a friend who swears by the Joyes. But go with what's convenient and inexpensive for you. Hope this helps. And good luck... keep roaming the forum.

I, too, am a newbie, and I, too, decided on the Volt. I've been on the Smokeless Image forum a lot, and they are getting all the out-of-stock stuff in soon. I'm waiting till then to order so I have a wider selection. They have a coupon code, HEATWAVE, that will save you 23% off, so that might help defray any excess shipping charges. I hear very good things about them, that their product is excellent, their customer service superb, and I haven't heard anything negative.

Meanwhile, I ordered some 510 disposables, just to give vaping a try, and I'm still trying to get the hang of it. I do smoke cigarettes, but I think the medium-strength nicotine in the disposables is too strong, so I'll order some low-nicotine and some 0%, too, just to see what works. I"m going with the prefilled cartomizers at first, but then I may fill my own later on.

Good luck with the Volt.
