We smokers automatically say we want tobacco flavor when we are gonna give up the cigs. I did, i got every tobacco flavor i could get my hands on (or afford). But i thought, what the hell, why not just have a few that taste good. I have 2 tobacco flavors that i really only go after when i'm having a few drinks.
During the week, at work, at home, at play, I have some awesome flavors. Chewing gum, coffee, spearmint.

Try to remember that 1st smoke, or that 1st smoke after quitting for 2 weeks. It tastes bad, it smell bad.

I think you should have and try a variety of flavors. I takes time and testing to find what you like, but some of them are just delicious.

Buy the small bottle, mix it with some other one that just wasn't there, there is a flavor for everyone.

wise words! im only a few days into vaping, and already am ready to toss the tobacco flavor.

so far the fruit flavors, and other similar flavors are absolutely amazing. makes me wish i bought the 10ml tobbaco, instead of 30ml. Or none at all.

It sounds like my approach when I picked up vaping was a lot different from most other people's. When I started, probably around six months ago now, I'd already moved away from cigarettes to pipe smoking a couple years prior. When you make that transition you quickly discover that there is a whole world of high quality tobaccos that you just aren't privy as a cigarette smoker. Having had the great pleasure of experiencing those higher quality tobaccos I wasn't at all confident that a tobacco flavored juice was going to give me that experience so I've never really gone out of my way to hunt a good one down. The ones I have had were removed from rotation almost immediately.

I also feel like it was significantly easier for me to transition from pipe smoking to vaping because pipe tobacco simply doesn't have all the added chemicals that cigarettes do.

What I'm chasing isn't really the tobacco flavor so much as the "creamy-ness" and smoke density that I used to get from a freshly packed and lit bowl of pipe tobacco. I suspect I'm a prime candidate to become a cloud chaser because of this but I'm starting to step outside the topic of this thread so I'll cut it off there.

Yeah, that's true; I personally couldn't stand smoking cigarettes-you can really taste the chemicals in there, compared to plain tobacco.

Btw my tastes are definitely changing: I'm vaping some new blueberry I got through, and I love it, can't get enough of it. Also, a cappuccino one is very tasty (the brand is called "magnificig" btw, and is a very cheap UK-made liquid of high quality). I think the thing I like about vaping compared to tobacco is how exciting it is to discover new flavours and new devices; smoking tobacco is nothing like that at all: a cig is just this disposable thing you throw away, whereas with vaping, you can take pleasure in using a really well-made, high quality device and discovering all these amazing new tastes. To me, smoking tobacco was just a mindless habit; all it did for me was satisfy my nicotine cravings-that's the only enjoyment I got out of it.

I quit once about 20 years ago for almost 2 years. I was buying my first house, a new house, I was doing a bunch of "sweat equity" and had to make a deadline to get in a the interest rate I wanted. My work got really busy and I got stressed out and started smoking one or two here and there. That's all it took, before I knew it I was back to 2 PAD.

I'm afraid that once you've truly been addicted it is for a lifetime. Some days you may never think about it but there will always be the thought in the back of your mind.

I hear ya'. 20 years ago I was in a highrise office fire; 5 coworkers killed. I damn near suffocated, suffered burns (not too serious), cuts, severe smoke inhalation. Coughed up chunks of tar for weeks. Didn't smoke for 6 months, but I always missed it and knew in the back of my mind that someday I'd go back to it... and of course I did.

I actually don't feel that way now that there's an alternative that (so far) satisfies me. I doubt vaping is completely without health consequences, but have to believe it's better than smoking. And at least I don't smell like an ash tray anymore...

When I first started vaping I went with the coffee and fruit flavors and they worked good for the first month. Then someone introduced me to NETs (naturally extracted tobaccos) and my whole concept of vaping changed. I now vape about 80% NET e-juices and a few coffee, sweets, or fruit e-juice. You can find reliable venders in the General E-Liquid Discussion section of the forum.
