lol just trying to make sum1 smile. ohhhh dry-humor jokes!! every vapers forum needs someone ranting & raving about the olden days. Aghh, we just need to take a breather from all this big cloud business and remember our ROOTS! Our TOOTS, if you will! And yes, I agree, it would be fine for more RDAs and RBTs to come with proprietary DT's so-long-as they also come w/510 adapter!! But I would have-to agree, I guess the chuff-cap would satisfy 90% of those looking for a wide-bore DT and they are coming in all different sizes these days. My local shop tried to get me to grab one of them when I bought my tohb... I says, I do NOT need no gigantic drip tip i already get enough spit-back through the tiny 510 holes. :p

Wide bore tips on drippers anyways allow you to use the tip for its actual purpose, dripping into the atty without removing the cap, hence the name......

When drip tips first appeared they were sized to fit cartos and premade drippers, the sizes were standardized by the size of the cart threads. You knew a 901 tip would fit a 901 cart 510 would fit 510 etc.

Many manufacturers just stuck to the known sizes so you can change to your preferred tip if wanted.

For those wanting a wide bore, attys like the doge, dark horse, goblin etc have massive tips

I'm a fan of standardization. If maker wants to make a custom drip tip and cap, make it an option. Drip tips are one of the most overlooked portion of a mod but its the part we actually interface with so it should be a comfortable, well thought out component. Sadly, often it's not.

I think 510 has a place, and the money position is in attys with 510 adapters. I love my Twisted Messes RDA for so many reasons and of those, the drip tip options are a major one. It has a huge metal chuff cap, a big delrin chuff tip, and a delrin adapter for 510. I can rock this atty with so many different builds and get exactly the vape I want when I want it. It is well thought out and well executed. More atty makers should take notice.

I honestly love what Smok did with the TFv4 drip tip. They took the 510 connection and added adjustable airflow on it that cools down the vapor. There are cool things companies can do with the 510 connection. If they want to make proprietary drip tips I also concur that they should include an adapter to 510 since it is already a standard. That's the problem I had with the adjustable airflow on the atlantis 2

Compvape RDAs kick .... The El Cabrón comes with two chuff caps and a 510 adapter.
Wide bore 510 drip tips are probably fine for about 75% of atty setups. It seems to me most RDAs now have some sort of a non-510 drip tip option, especially the high-airflow atties where it is basically mandatory to keep from choking off a majority of the airflow.
510 standardization is a good thing because it does create a bit of a baseline for airflow requirements and creates more options. I'm all for proprietary drip tip sizes as well, though. The manufacturer should just include a 510 adapter as well.
