Picked up an A7 in the classies and want to trick it out. I understand the concept and all, just wondering on the materials to use with this thing. I've seen the A7oid drip tip and maybe will pick one up in the future, but I gotta space out my vape purchases so the wife doesn't freak and strangle me, lol. I figure I can just do the same with some ss mesh rolled into a straw. Also I'm a Cotton wick kind-a guy. I thought about just using cheesecloth wicks and cotton fluff (cotton balls) instead of the Sera filler, unless the Sera is just better at holding the juice in the top cap than cotton balls. If so it's not too hard to find, I did a search on wallyworld's website and they sell it, I just already have cotton balls.

So thoughts? Will my ss mesh and cottonball mod fly or will I be looking into some new filler material and a new drip tip? It'll be a couple days b4 It gets here, so just want to be prepared for it when it does. Thanx peeps!

Cotton as a filler doesn't work as well, it seems to compress or take up more space allowing less liquid to be held.
SS mesh - I made an upside-down U-wick and the legs would stick into the Sera, then when you twist the top back on the legs twisted into eachother, pulling on the coiled section - shorted out because it scraped the oxidation off.
Cotton pad fluff as a wick isn't so great either because as you're twisting the top on the legs of the wick (to touch the Sera) can cling to the sides and be pulled apart or away from the coil at the legs. Burnt hot-leg taste.
Cotton rope wick works great.

I was talking about using the ss mesh as a straw in the top cap above the coil for the filler to surround to allow airflow. I also thought of maybe using a long hollow ss vertical wick and wrapping the top of the wick above the coil in filler material, but quickly decided against it as refilling/rebuilding seems like it would be a serious pita! So I'll head to petsmart or wallyworld and look for the Sera wool. I may still try to use cotton, though, as filler. Maybe cheesecloth as both wick and filler since it doesn't expand as much as fluff cotton (balls or rolled cotton). Just seems like that may have more potential for leaking. I can't wait to get this thing, so many ideas I want to try out!
