Well I've owned it for 6 months on the original version ,with the understanding it was running on a single battery so I was building my coils accordingly to maximise my battery life . this week end I wanted to see if the latest firmware upgrade was worth it and it isn't let me tell you, before update I was vaping at 35w and averaging 450 to 485 puffs on the counter so not too bad, since upgrade same tank same coils same juice and fresh cotton and 245 on puff counter so I'll be going back to original version I only use it on power mode. Does anyone have an explanation or some kind of reasoning behind this drastic drop in battery life not bloody impress

I have the Aegis, and here would be my guess. I've noticed that when the battery drops, the mod still runs but it doesn't give you full power. If you hit the button and watch the screen when the battery gets low, you could be set on 60 watts but the display will show what you're actually getting. It will drop to 55, then 50, down to 45, and at some point it finally gives you your weak battery warning.

It shouldn't be that way, so I'm guessing they fixed it. It should cut off when the battery can no longer give you the wattage you have it set for. I'm guessing they "fixed" that with the update. Next time it cuts out on you, try turning the power down 10 watts and see if it fires again. If so, you can get back to your old battery life by manually doing what the mod used to do.

I have v1.24a on my ACU Aegis, it does cut the wattage back as you said. Normally when it gets to that point I switch out batteries.

I have no idea which version I have. I run mine a little while after it cuts back, but when it gets under 50 watts it just isn't a good vape, so I change mine out early too. As per the puff counter, I don't even look at it so I've never measured it that way. I run mine at 60 watts and get about 4 hours on a 26650.

Some updates are going to give you extra "options" w/r/t to how to set things up. I don't update my mods unless pretty much forced to at knifepoint, and I will say with DNA mods that will often lead to better battery life due to more precise measuring of things and whatnot, but I guess I could see it as possible that if you are just using wattage mode, some of the extra bells and whistles might be cutting into your battery life somehow...

However, it seems you've already applied the necessary solution... Going back to the original firmware. I guess you could do more digging into the matter, but I am one of those "if it's not broken..." type people. I will say when you update a mod, several (sometimes unpredictable) things can happen... It's not always a benefit to install an update and etc.

Turn the device off, then hold the + and - buttons simultaneously until the version shows.

i seem to get an enjoyable vape with my aegis at 48w but bounce from that and 62w and ill get bout half day easy on a 20700 or a 26650, the 20700 even had 1/4 charge left on it after a 12h shift at work and were allowed to vape in my shop, idk but seems descent battery life to me
