I know there has been much controversy in other parts of the forum in regards to whether V4L's cartomizer are any different or if they all just come from the same place. So here is my personal opinion on it. I am only brave enough to post this in the V4L section as I fear for the safety of my life should I post such a review in any other sub forum
.
What am I testing?
0mg and 11mg menthols from V4L
1x 0mg menthol, 1x 11mg menthol of 'generic' cartomizers (came in one of starter kits that have 2 batteries, usb charger and 5 cartomizers).
How were the tests done?
I understand the sample size of the generic cartomizers and the people who tested them (2 ppl) is extremely small but hopefully it will still support my findings. I was the test subject for the blind test on the 0mg menthol carts and a friend did a blind test of the 11mg menthol carts.
Is there a difference?
I would have to say yes, my friend and I were both able to determine which were V4L carts.
I am fairly new to the forum and I have no loyatlies (yet) nor ties to any vendor so there would be no reason for me to make such claims other than for information's sake.
What was different?
It was our first order and the first time we vaped so we got a little carried away
and didn't really assess anything but taste. We only had 1x 0mg and 1x 11mg generic carts so we are unable to do the 'test' again to evaluate vapour production or throat hit. So let's get to taste. My friend and I both tasted a lot more "mintiness" with the V4L carts. There was not only more flavour but I would say it was nicer too. This is not to say that the generic weren't nice. They were, but I would have to rate the V4L slightly higher.
Just smelling the cartomizers before even putting them on the battery, you can smell a discernable difference in flavour already (smells sweeter and mintier). The generic cartomizers only had a very faint smell from the outside. I understand that the 2 generic cartomizers may be a bad batch, but we ordered quite a few packs of other V4L flavours and they pretty much all of them have a strong smell from the outside. For me, this is a clear indication that the cartomizers are going to be flavoursome.
HOWEVER, there is an exception and I'm unsure of what conclusions to draw from this. We did have a generic 11mg Marlboro cartomizer and although it was not vaped we did smell the cart (this was for another friend so we werent allowed to vape it). There was definitely a very tobacco smell to it. We compared that to the only other tobacco flavoured cartomizer we bought from V4L which was the Camel. The V4L had a faint tobacco smell mixed with a sweet smell. Not sure if tobacco ones are suppose to smell sweet still?
In conclusion
In our opinion, V4L's menthol carts stood out for us as they had more of a minty/mentholy taste. So it's
from us for V4L's cartomizers!
*Sorry about the excruciatingly long post
but hopefully some people will find it helpful.
