Well, I don't have memories of one specific Christmas celebration at my Mom and Dad's house so I'll just tell you what we typically do, just a few examples of the craziness that is a Casey Family Christmas. My Mom and Dad have a way of taking in friends and boyfriends and girlfriends of friends and family as if they are blood relatives so there are usually 20 to 25 people minimum at our Christmas celebrations. If you are a family member you get a stocking. I still swear my wife married me to get the Christmas Stocking. So
throughout the year everyone buys odd or funny stuff for the stockings. So the stockings can be loaded with portable personal toilet seat covers, USB port humping dogs, bolsa wood airplanes, car air fresheners showing "The Patron Saint of Parking, gross tasting Jelly Belly Beans, Little pill looking shells with sponge critters that grow, sea monkeys and then of course the good stuff - coffee gift certificates, lotions and chocolate. We always eat something disgusting, like the year one of my sisters bought drinks that tasted like liver and onions, vomit, etc. We also always give temporary custody of a special item for someone for the year. We vote on who made it
through the year despite many challenges, accomplished the most or made the biggest sacrifice. For a couple years we gave the Macarena Monkey and last year we gave the Hawaiian Hunks calendar. My Mom and Older Sister had taken photos of all of us from a family trip to Hawaii (male and female) and put the faces on the bodies of Hawaiian Hunks. 2008 was a difficult year because my Dad passed away but with the love and support of our family we all made it
through and, although we miss him dearly and more so at each family function, my Mom and Dad's home continues to be a place of warmth, love and laughter and each Holiday I spend there with my loved ones will forever be cherished!
