The best atomiser?

From what I've heard, 306 gives the best flavor, 901 gives the best vapor and 510 is somewhere in the middle. I haven't read too much about 808s and other similar atomizers. LR atomizers on a 3.7v device is a good option.
Unless your device is made for 901 atomizers, I would suggest using 510s until you're more comfortable with the various atomizer types. Don't forget a drip tip if you are dripping your juice.

I'm not sure what you mean by dry smoking. For a 3.7V mod, low resistance is better in my opinion. It will give you more vapor/flavor/TH. I like the LR306 over the 510. If you go with the 306, make sure you get the correct drip tip.
The 510 dual coil atomizer has proven to be the best in my opinion. My opinion is limited because I've only used 510 devices.

its an apples to apples comparison of low resistance atomizers I did a while back.
The most popular are 510's and 306's. Since they give warmer vapor and a good TH. I would highly suggest LR since standard resistance atties/cartos won't give you a good vape at that voltage.
Anyways, all atomizers have their strengths and weaknesses. Here's a list of them that you already know. I listed the 901 first since it has the most flavor and steadily decrease as it goes down the list while the TH/vapor increase. Also the draw becomes slightly stiffer as well. Since 901's and especially 801's have very loose, airy draws:

For me (and for the french people!) it's when you put directly some drops of juice in the atomiser.
