Just got my Big Brother today! Shipped on the 16th arrived on the 18th - thank you Ken!! ... and Doots for the inspiration from the video :) Great job on the review and so far - just a few hours now - I have little to add to the basics. It works and performs just as Doots says.

On mine and because the box is similarly marked by the 'dots' on by the variable dial, I'll assume all units, the 'off' position is at "9:30" (with the activation switch at "12:00") And from that 9:30 to right before the first dot at around 7:00 - the mod is still off. This is good, in the sense that while in carrying you may have it all the way off, but it would take quite a bit of movement to turn the mod on - ie. moving from 9:30 to 7. After that on the first dot you begin to get some vapor. I've had an LR 510 (1.6-1.7Ω) atty, a regular 510 atty (2.1-2.2Ω) and a 2.8Ω carto on the BB.

I haven't tried to meter it from what Doots said, so this is just going by my experience. I'd guess the first dot which is @ 6:30 and is right by the seam of the two sides of the box is around 3 volts. My Decadent Vapours 'Sour Cherry' in VG has really good flavor there and even with the 2.8Ω carto, there is some vapor. Flavor still holds at the next dot 6:00 still good flavor and more vapor - 3.5volt? - it's vaping a tad better than an eGo (which is, depending on various reports 3.1+ to 3.4volts). At the 5:30 dot, I'm saying 4 volts and now the lighter sour cherry flavor is still good but less and the vapor is like a 3.7volt+ box mod+? At the next dot - 5:00 - the cherry is lighter still but the vapor is like vaping pure VG at 5 volts. At 4:30 the flavor is gone, vapor huge. A stronger flavor would likely do well in the 5:00 and 4:30 range at this wattage.

So.... I had a 3.4Ω carto from Nhaler's (mega carto). And this is interesting. I normally have this on my 5 volt Bartleby and the performance had dropped considerably and I switched it out, thinking the carto was gone or on the way out - getting virtually no vapor on the 5v Bart. So I put it on the BB and I put it on the 5:00 dot and got a bit of vapor. I cranked up to 3:00 (above the dots) don't know the voltage there but, guessing above 6v and it came alive!* lol. It's like a 'wet burn'. I would do this when I still had regular 510 batts or megas where the performance of the 510 atty was slipping and I'd put the atty on either the true 3.7v Bartleby or carefully on the 5v Bart to 'clean the atty' with this 'wet burn'. And that appears to be what is happening here with the older Nhaler 3.4Ω carto. It's a coffee flavor (DV's Doppio Expresso) and as I crank it down a bit 4:00 the flavor is coming through well with at least 5v-type vapor.

*Ok, going back to the 5:00 dot (I'm guessing @5 volts) not doing as well... I put it back on the actual 5 volt Bart and while it's now working and getting some vapor, not like the new carto I just put on last night. So I'm checking the carto....

The carto (originally 3.4Ω) is now reading 4.0Ω so I think it is on it's way out but still vapes good at the 3:00 setting on the BB :) Guessing 6.5volts with the 4ohm atty that's @10.5 Watts. With only a few experiences with a 6 volt from a friend, this is the first time for me vaping 6v. Sorry for the total 'stream of consciousness' and I hope I'm not boring you at this point. lol. Just to check I put the newer 3.4Ω Nhaler atty on the BB and it vapes well at the 5:00/5volt dot, like the 5v Bart - perhaps a bit better. And with good flavor and great vapor - DV's new 'Hylton' flavor. And it's a bit hot at the 3:00 - @12.5W? Later I'll vape that older Nhaler carto on 3:00 and see if it continues to 'clean'.

I did have one leak on the older Nhaler carto - the filler is likely compressed -and I did get some ejuice on the mod and at the seam in the two sides. Normally that wouldn't be good on a regular box mod BUT... Ken has put a floor/shelf under the seam that protects all the 'stuff'! This is quite a design when you figure what he stuffed in the small area. When I first heard of this I just figured a 3AA box, but no - Ken made it work in a 2AA box - maintaining a nice 'stealth' vape - ie. stealth except for the vapor :) Anyway, the leak then was of no consequence. It didn't even get to the shelf. The other attys and cartos - no leaks.

This is a great mod. I'm putting the regular 510 atty back on... This vaper good at the 4:30 - 4:45 area. 5 is a bit hot. And one last note - to reiterate - the correlation between the O'Clock settings and voltages are just my rough estimations from my vaping experience. IOW, not 'writ in stone'/ymmv and I may be off on those. But I'm using that as a guide for the 'variability' of this mod - the variations whatever they are, are very real - in the settings with different attys/cartos and how it effects vapor and flavor. At this point - highly recommend. Well done, Ken! And thanks again, Doots, for pushing me over the edge. lol.

I agree totally. This corresponds to what I have found also on voltages. Since I cant measure them for sure it is a good guesstimation.. lol
This is my main vape everyday. If you haven't gotten one yet, You are missing out on the best mod out there. My GLV is up there too but it isnt variable.. I use both mods daily. This one fits in the pocket so easily and is light weight and I must say, The batts last a long time... Thanks Ken! and also to Kent for adding to this review thread..!

Good to know Doots. I do have a 'smoke ring' standard but haven't applied that yet :) I was eyeballing your settings on the video and that helped.

I am loving my Big Bro.
I drip a lot and use carto's away from the desk/computer. When I drip i use a drip tip and always take the tip off as i can never get the drips right down the middle.
With the BB, I am afraid when i push the tip back on the atty it will strain the housing under the atty, so i unscrew the atty and drip, then put the tip on before putting the atty back on. It is not that much of a hassle, but I do not want to risk damaging the BB mod.
I have noticed some give when i do push the tip on so that's why i do it.
I like to know that exactly 3 drops or whatever amount is correct.
Perhaps there is a better way to drip through the tip but i don't have that down yet.

Two or three drops at a time is what a lot of people do. You should get about 7 or 8 drags off of that until you need to drip again. Less if you take massive power drags.

Several vendors sell widemouth drip tips which may help you out a bit. I know that my drip tip doesn't work too well on a 510 because the base of it almost touches the bridge and the drops get hung up and don't make it down to the coil. On one of my attys I bent the bridge over to one side slightly and it seems to help. Not sure if those.are.the same issues you are having but thought It'd share just in case.

So are you saying there is a weakness in the housing where it connects the atty?

Does it have the same tiny switch as the LS ?

It does appear to be the same switch, from looking at the enlarged picture at Ken's site. It looks like a 6mm/50mA mini tactile switch. What I don't know yet is if Ken has put a different regulator, perhaps one with a control pin, in the BB than the LS. That may also be a reason why you can't measure the voltage @ the atty - I don't know.

I just ordered a BB last week thanks to Doots' excellent review.

It is tiny for sure, but has a nice little feel to it... very nice!
Not sure, i read somewhere where Ken put a plate under the atty at the top of the battery housing, right under the top.
Although this BB feels substantial and extremely space efficient, the batt door is held by a magnet and if you are rough by nature, well anything may happen.
I have had a Wet Box and I abused it, so with this one I am trying to be as prudent as poss.
For the money, you cant get a better vv imo.

Nice choice ken makes a quality Mod. I think I have everything he has built.

His customer service is #1 in my book. If he builds it I buy it. :)

Great review doots. Mine is shipping monday and I cant wait. I know it said 21 day wait but 10 days and ken is shipping it out. Was showing off my purchase to some people at work and 1 of them bought kens 5v box mod too so they will ship at same time and both of us will be sporting our neww mods next week.
