Would a loaner tank help your efforts?
Edit.. i meant to quote above post about dimensions.

Not really, just need the distance in mm or in from the seal to the bottom of the tank, and then the wall thickness of the tank in mm or in where the carto goes in. Having a loaner would only give me the wall thickness.

Anyone want to measure for me :)

Dan, I measure the wall thickness at 4mm. The o-ring is off set slightly to the outer part of the tank, so no more than 2mm from the outside of the tank. From the positive connection, the carto wick inlet holes clear the tank at 9mm.

Eh why not, I'll pick up another 357 and give it a shot lol.

Is the 357 Long Barrel shorter than a standard carto? (37mm vs. 40mm) Maybe they're referring to the length without the connector? Too bad they're out of stock...

Edit: I guess the other issue I see after watching the video again is the mesh sticking out the sides of the atty. You could do this with a tank that comes apart but the BB tank is one piece and it might be a problem getting the mesh thru the o-ring in tact.

My long barrel is a little too long to fit in the tank, needs to be trimmed down from the top a bit.

I was thinking about the extruding mesh too, then I thought maybe if I could somehow put a little "wad" of mesh in there that doesn't extrude top much, it may work. I'm still working that part out lol. I'm thinking that maybe with a single small enough hole, the mesh might not even be necessary. I'm gonna call Cisco tomorrow and see if he's got an old one laying around the shop.

Sad Update,

Bad week guys, super mega dumb, stupid, sad, depressing, frustrating week.... of poop. Started out ok, got to run some parts, "kinda", so i got a little to show, but things started sliding downhill really fast for Ruby, and she's been down and out for 5 or 6 days now... and won't be back on her feet until Tuesday afternoon... (and that sucks cuz we kinda need her)

least i get to show ya guys some BB's being made, so we'll just start with some bar stock that i make my minions cut up for me...

remember this thing?

that stock is actually pretty dimensionality unstable, so to get it flat we load it up inta that jig thingy above.....

then Ruby pokes at it with her probe...

then she flattens the heck out it,

now the bottom is flat, she has a blinking green light on top of her to tell me to come over and flip the work over,,, i really don't need the blinking light to tell me she's done, the fact that the sound level in the shop drops 100db is kind of a giveaway... anyway, i flip um, and now she's ready to do some serious milling...

and make a serious mess... that sucks, why is there a window if i can't see through it with all the coolant spray and metal'y chips.... lame...

so i had to feedhold her (stop motion, but not spindle or coolant) to open her up and snap a pic.... open her door and about a cubic foot of aluminum swarf (chips) drops and splats on the shop floor,,, what a little piggy.

yah, think i'll just keep that door closed, till she stops spraying cutting juice all over the place....

few hours later... all done but one final operation i need to swap out a bit in her to finish....

looking ok, but i was starting to get the feeling something was up by the sounds she was making up to this point and the surface finish in some areas....

at this point, i stop taking pictures, because i'm raging p!ssed. she crashes... not like computer crash, where you have to reboot and everything is happy fun time,,, she crashed in the manner of "ran into herself and broke parts of herself", specifically, her tool changing platter. This is a 1/2in thick plate of aluminum that she bent with her spindle head by trying to change tools in a place there was no tool... this code to change tools is built in to her controller and written by the factory, not me, so it was time to make angry phone calls and yell at people. this is good sized chunk of damage, and shes was flat dead.

so the repair guy from my dealer came next morning, ordered a new thingy that was broke, and took out the broken parts and all the toolholders.... then i see something wrong with the tool holders... ahhh, starting to make sense why she was sounding pretty unhappy why she was cutting and why i wasn't thrilled with some of her surface cuts.

(actualy, i'm not going to post that pic, I took it but it has their company logo on it and i don't think it's fair for me to post it with the mood i'm in... but in short.. all of my toolholders are bad, and were hurting Ruby....)

Sooooooooo, the parts she broke came, and the repair tech guy gets to putting her all back together....
this is what she bent.

this is the new one all put back together. them black thingys are the what holds the toolholders in Rubys inventory into place, and the thing is supposed to rotate to let her pick up and drop off tools.

so that new thingy, gets loaded up into this thingy " a kinda' geneva wheel"... and this thingy spins to rotate all the tools..

anyway, she got all put back together and can now hold tools... but that don't mean cr@p cuz all my toolholders are bad and i can't use um'... great. So i buyz some more while i wait for the dealer i bought the machine (and toolholders) from to replace the bad ones i got..... you kinda can't get these at the the local hardware store, heck, i only know of two companies in the whole world that make um, so the ones i just ordered will show up Tuesday at best.... fine, poop... i'm getting p!ssed again reliving this...

So here comes the insult to injury. I can't use Ruby to cut, so i decide to write some more code for later down the road... but i need her to probe a pallet for me to give me some info.... Then the probe messes up... ... GREAT... it wasn't set securely enough by the first tech.... so more techs' (head cheese tech this time) come, and the probe gets reset... and now that's all better, but still..... no ... toolholders till Tuesday........

so i have to be honest, we are now behind... by about a week, I will have to update our site once i have wrapped my head around what i can do to catch up, but this has been just a load of cr@p for luck, and it's all out of my hands....... I hate this, I REALLY hate this...

I probably shouldn't have updated in my mind set (ahhhhggga), but i said i would, so i did. Sorry if i ranted,, but i'm super pi$$ed, that's what p!ssed people do.... that and cry, i'll try that next.

call me if you need me for anything, next week will be a great one, it just has to be.......
