gettin' better update:

hi guys, this is going to be a quicker update than i would like, but just poo... i have just too much crap buying for my time right now and i ain't feeling umm that great...... but i said if i ever find a way to do something better, that i would... well, i did, and i did.... this change is to the brass ring and will be coming into effect "this" (up today) batch of BBs.

Something that was bugging me with the current brass top ring doober', is there would sometimes be a little juice around
the tanks top, around the carto/atty... not all the time, just some times... this is thanks to capillary action.. vapor will stick to the inner side wall of the drip tip and slide down... when it slides down to where carto meets brass ring, if there is any variation in the top of the carto, capillary action will want to draw that liquid out where it will just sit on top of the tank... this is more of a problem with a user trimmed carto/atty/diver/raven/XL tubes things...ect ... if the tube was not cut ABSOLUTELY perfect... if that bit of juice manages to get behind the tank, then the tank becomes hard to remove because of the suction.. and that's lame....

anywayz.. i redesigned how the ring integrates with the atty, and it now acts something more like a drip tip... and i'm pretty sure martha stewart would call that "a good thing"...

happy new ring..

new one on the left....

some build pics i found on my phone...

I really wasn't expecting to add these to the BB quite yet, but as we didn't make our batch last week becasue ruby died while we were out of brass rings, this just turned out out to be the right timing to give um a go..... i'v givin' the ring enough die hard tests to make sure it solves exactly what i designed it to, and it passes with flying colors (what the hell does that expression mean??? really, i have no clue..)

anywhooo....

here's a few points on the new ring..

This change is not a revision.. it's just the screw, and i think of that part kinda like i think of a tank, as one will work with any BB...

This ring will work with ANYTHING i can think of so far except for a chopped raven, becasue of the plastic inside the raven.. well, actually it probably will still work, but that plastic will have to be removed a bit from the inside of the raven.

I am going to make a point to get these available in our shop ASAP.. I really would have preferred to make them available to BB owners first, but as this took time to design, code, get and set up tooling, prototype, tweak, recode, cry in the corner, do a final run, throw that away, re tweak the code and do it again........ it just didn't work out that way. We need to get our batches rolling again and we need the final rings we have to do that... sorryz.... but i'm on it...

The O-ring on the new brass ring is 1.5 x 5.5 mm, pretty common drip tip sized o-ring. All new BBs will come with a replacement O-ring in the spare ring baggie thing, and from this weekend on we will also start adding them to the care kits. That said, this ring will NOT need replacement very often as it's compression load is engineered much less than a drip tips, this is becasue it is just used to seal not to hold in place like a drip tip. It of course will wear quicker if you are chopping down tubes and the edges are left jagged.

I'm going to sleep coma, the office will put up all this stuff we made later on today (lots of standards and pies)... history has dictated this to be between 11am and 2pm mountain'y time,, but don't quote me to that... office chicks are free to do whatever they please.

sorry pm box, i just super ain't got it in me right nowz.....

I couldn't help myself. Proud new billet box owner. Guess I'll have to buy some new batteries and regular sized cartos.

Wife and I currently use Notcigs Buzz Pro's. I know the REO VV uses the Notcigs board. I'm curious to know if it is the same protection circuitry in the billetbox?

edit: I do see that the circuit boards are made in house. I will keep reading but, what type of protection circuitry is in place?
