Is it just me, or are the Boge slotted cartos really really inconsistent?

I bought a bunch of them from surevapes, and a package from kidneypuncher. It seems like at least 3 out of each box are bad, and are burnt immediately no matter how much I prime them.

The prepunched ones, and the regular stainless ones seem much better by comparison.

Should the ball holding the door be movable? Because I need to take very hard pressure to open the door and it's not moving at all. Even when I clean everything it's very hard to open my billetbox. The ball is full of scratches from opening.. is this normal? Thanks and sorry for my english

I don't know, synic. The only time a carto can burn is when there is no liquid around the coil. What's your method of priming them?

I had a similar issue...

Be sure and clean well the edges of both the sliding door, the grooves that it slides into, and the ball. I use a little isopropyl alcohol, a paper towel, and my fingernail. Once it's clean & dry, apply just a very tiny bit of olive oil on the ball and on the grooves. When I say tiny, I mean tiny. Like a couple of drops on a paper towel, and applied with the towel.

Now, every time I refill the tank, I clean it as above. You shouldn't have to re oil every time, just occasionally.

Sorry to disagree with miss Kat (my humble apologies ), but I had a similar experience, though not quite as many bad cartos per box as you. After completely disassembling my boge slotted cartos, found there was no burnt filler, had proper priming and looks like the coils had shorted in the carto. If I use a carto, Boge slotted is still my favorite, but Boge cartos in general for me seemed to have more with this shorted coil issue causing nasty vapes. Can't remember what page, but I posted the pics and the info on this thread.

Build yourself a condor and never deal with it again.....I guarantee!

Try the alcohol on the ball, use something like a paper towel that is just a little rough. The ball has a spring under it. Press down, then try to roll the ball while pushing down. After it starts to turn, you will probably see more dirtiness showing. Finish cleaning it, and use the olive oil.

The SS ball lock has another ball (like the ball seal on the tank) behind it to give it spring return (at least my version does....not an actual spring). Push down on your ball a few times and try to get some lubricant in it while spinning. The BB folks have recommended olive oil if I remember correct. For me, I find longer periods between needing to lub the slide and ball if I use a Teflon based grease. Places that sell fishing equipment typically keep it on hand for reel bearings and it works great.

This is what I am currently testing. It is Teflon base, non toxic and has ceramic nano particles (supposedly for better lubrication). Wow, this post could have really sounded dirty talking about lubing up your balls.

No apologies necessary, Mr. D_J! I hoped my post was taken with a grain of humour (ergo the "wink"). I do understand inconsistency with the Boges and I truly wish there wasn't that. So does this mean we're still in Bogegate-land?

Well, I just loaded up on the slotted ones, from KP, based on two running perfectly. I hope I don't regret it, but I have faith - particularly given my source of recommendation ("She-With-Many-Children").

So I'm holding steady while waiting for the order to arrive. Onward!

And please don't take this the wrong way, but if I wanted to build something, I'd have bought a Lego set.

Not taken the wrong way, but that is something in which is either in your blood or it isn't. I love buying fine wines and cheeses, simply because I know the years and years of knowledge that went into making it, I could never achieve. But I have tried. Things I can make myself, while I could afford to buy, simply is more fun to challenge myself to build when time permits. Plus the Condor takes less than 15 minutes to build.

FYI, there lies the difference, as a kid you had a lego set, I had an erector set (and made my own parts)...hahaha.

OK last line I promise. Started with cartos, moved to the Diver, hell bent on the Condor (it really is that much better).
