Hey, am I the only one who likes it LOUD??

I... (smh) - just... (smh) - oh, never mind. :danger::offtopic::danger::offtopic:

And now I'm bringing it back (imagine THAT). Question(s) for anyone who owns the anodized.

1. Have you cleaned it yet (Kat, DON'T...!)?
2. If so, how did you clean it? Point being, does it still need to be lubed after it's cleaned (Kat, DON'T...!), or will just the cleaning suffice?

Mine doesn't LOOK like it needs anything, but I'm starting to feel the very SLIGHTEST of "hitches" when I slide it now. Nothing compared to the raw, but it's JUST starting to lose that OH-so-awesome combination of feel & sound that it retained for an unbelievable three weeks. I'm thinking it's time to at least consider cleaning it, but would love to hear somebody else's experiences first.

Besides, at this rate, I probably have another two or three weeks before it actually NEEDS it.

All input will be greatly appreciated. Grazie, amici.

I am extremely happy so far. my only other mod is a coolfire 2 with an ibtanked 25mm halfling, i love that mod but its form makes it difficult to put in a pocket, i worried about breaking the tank off or something all the time and the threads are aluminum on aluminum so they are prone to wear and stripping. my hands have been shaky since my deployment so the fine control of filling a halfling isnt easy at times. The billet box solves all these problems, and im loving the fill hole. my only wish is that the batteries could last as long as the tank, but i wouldnt trade the billet box form for better battery life

Welp, I would definitely give you some input. In fact, I would give you precise instructions on the how to. I would absolutely give you my experience.

I would, I would, but..........

SOMEBODY TOLD ME NOT TO!!!! :D (and I do as I'm told, don'tcha know, ha ha ha.)

Touché, Missy D. Nicely played.

Now, moving on. It gives me great pleasure to present the FIRST of its kind, "Cleaning the Anodized Billet Box" (by me).

Although not visible to the naked eye, when I ran a Q-Tip with alcohol over everything there was a bit of build-up. It wasn't black oxidation, like I was used to seeing, but instead maybe a very slight film of juice? To be honest, I'm not really certain. It was far from "dirty" but it also wasn't pristine.

So I cleaned it in the normal manner. A light swab with a Q-Tip & alcohol, over the ball, door and sides. After letting it dry for a few minutes, I put it together again. It was good but still just a TOUCH short of that nice snappy slide that it had new.

So I ran a VERY LIGHT COAT of olive oil over everything; again, just like I used to with the raw BB - but using nowhere near as much oil. Just a slight dip, and a very light run-over with the Q-Tip.

And... Voilà! Perfection achieved.

So there you go (for whatever it might be worth). The initial documented cleaning is now in the books. And with that I bid you all a good night. And thanks for a fun weekend, one and all. :toast:

It is all that and more, garpt (in my opinion). For me the portability is invaluable. Being able to throw it into a jeans pocket comfortably makes it the beat-all, end-all for out-and-about devices. The built in "silencer" (by covering the air holes) also comes in serious handy, since I spend much of my work day on phone calls.

We'll be interested to hear how you, and all the new owners, like them once you've had the chance to use it.

.. I ordered a Billet Bridge. Ideally, I would want the Diver 2 since I enjoy rebuilding and the added flexibility, but it's O/S. I'll get that later on.
Question: How's the draw with the Bridge? Is it looser then the typical carto?
Thanks.

garpt, I find the draw with the B Bridge to be a bit looser than kartos. The fact that it's warm overshadows the looser draw to me. But, I'm not sure if you're asking because you like a looser draw... or don't. :) I really do enjoy the ability to have a varied vape on the B Box by switching between the two.

Many of us (welp, not me, but many here) use the Diver in the B Box as well. There's a dedicated thread on it in fact.

Enjoy!

Coming from RBA tanks and drip atomizers, yes, I've become accustomed to a looser draw with a lot of vapor. Of course like most of us I started with cartos, and for me I will be returning to some extent. I will check out that Diver thread as well 'cause that may be something I'd enjoy a lot, the ability to build a coil to suit my preferred vape. Thanx for the info!

Most welcome, garpt. I do believe that you can also rebuild the Aspire coils. I'm sure you've seen (or heard of) Mr. Trippers (aka "ailing as chesticles"). He is quite the infamous YouTuber when it comes to rebuilding any coils and has a vid specifically for rebuilding the Aspires.

The B Bridge, with its looser draw, should be up to snuff for you, tho doubtful it will vape as an RBA tank or a dripping atty. Sometimes we circle tho. I actually started on stock, pre-made, old fashioned, old school atomizers with that silly little cartridge thing on top. I dripped for the better part of a year before exploring kartos. Every now and then, just for sentimentality's sake, I'll use one of those "way back in the day" attIEs. Drip drip drip. Vape vape vape. Repeat.

You just might find that a good ol' good karto vape is quite pleasing, consistent, and easypeasy.

In anticipation of my billet bridge arriving i watched rip tippers review of bdc atomizers and then how to rebuild them because they dont always perform well. Have they gotten better now or am i looking at rebuilding anyway to get optimal performance? Im starting to think maybe i should have just ordered a diver and planned on rebuilding

I dunno, Airborne. Being the world's best and most prolific modder...... (yeah right!). The Aspire coils have been completely wonderful (performance wise) for me. I use them stock, straight out of their little plastic and tin foil crates. I imagine that if I DID rebuild, they MIGHT be better, but I'm pretty happy with them au naturale. If you do get a Diver and prefer it, I have no doubt that the B Bridge would make for a very easy sale.

I had a lot of trouble with the Nautilus coils when I used that atty for a *very* short time, but I also had a Vivi Nova which used the BDC coils and they always worked well. Definitely not plagued by the same QC problems in my experience.
That said, for rebuilders I'm sure the Diver offers much more versatility for rebuilders.
