What's the cost to create one of those lovely coils?

$3 for the brass 510 adapter. Or $7 for the SS 510-901 from Provape. I haven't made a build yet with the later, but it will work.

EVOD heads are about $1. Hemp wick, and 32ga resistance wire, optional but highly recommended for re-building.

Rest depends on your tool chest. Did mine with a hand drill, and 5" disc sander. Drill press, bench grinder, and Dremel would be easier, but not necessary. I used lead free paste solder. An ultrasonic cleaner comes in handy for cleaning everything up to a sparkle, and works particularly well to clean out the flux and solder debris that is left down inside the tube.

So in short, cost of the first depends on if you need to make a trip to Home Depot or not. Otherwise, five to ten dollars each depending on what adapter you chose. The brass is easier to work with and requires less work to make a proper fit. However, going forward I will use the SS anyway since once done, other than rebuilding coils, or occasionally replacing the head, it'll last a lifetime.

If anyone runs into any questions, post it up in the other thread, and I'll help you through it. Going to send one to Doug this weekend in the hopes that if he likes it, it can serve as a rough template for a BB specific rebuild-able.

Would you have to rebuild it or could you just buy new EVOD heads and use those?

Unfortunately, the head needs to have about 1mm of the "ring" ground down in order to be able to pass thru the tank opening. You don't have to remove the coil, but the wick needs to be pulled out so it doesn't get contaminated with the filings. The stock coils are OK, but not nearly as good as the 8 wrap 32ga coils I put in them. Another advantage of using 32ga wire is the coil will last a long, long time. A fresh set of hemp wicks can be placed into the coil in minutes and oddly enough stay gunk free longer than silica.
