So I've been seeing some leaking today. It drips from the top of the tank down inside to the batteries. There seems to be a wet "ring" around the top of the carto where it extrudes from the tank. I used a flashlight and a magnifying glass, the o-ring up there doesn't seem to be damaged at all. No nicks, looks new pretty much.

I'm not sure if this is the carto overflowing out from the top or if it's the o-ring. I couldn't get the o-ring out for the life of me though.

Maybe 3 holes are too many, guess I'll switch to 2 tomorrow and see how that works out.

Does your drip tip fit snugly in the carto? Or maybe you could try one that's a bit more snug and see if it still leaks?

The DT fits pretty snug in the carto itself, pretty much like a driptip should fit. As far as the brass ring, it's starting to chew the o-ring up on the driptip. It still fits fine, doesn't fall out or anything, but it's a little torn up.

How would the drip tip cause leaking though, since it fits in the brass ring and not the carto?

What's your VG/PG ratio. I use 3 holes on almost all my cartos, sometimes 4, but the lowest VG/PG ratio I use is a 20/70 VG/PG ratio. If you are using a straight PG, then maybe three holes is too much for such thin liquid

I use 75/25 at the moment. Two holes in the past just resulted in premature burning, three seemed to be a good spot, but that carto which burnt could've just been a dud too... :/

well not sure which punch you use, but I use a VIP punch, so I can sorta play with how big the holes I make are. I usually make one hole on the bottom big, the other on the bottom small, and the one in the middle big. Don't know if that helps or not just passing along the info. Only time I have ever had a carto with three punches leak on me is if I take too many dry primer pulls

I'm thinking of an off-the-wall test you might consider....just take a new carto and fill it. Do not punch any holes....insert it in the empty tank and vape it. Keep the carto wet at all times but don't let any juice get in the center hole...just keep the filler wet....see how it goes....heck you can always punch holes in it later....

Did a little pre BB shopping this AM. Half dozen batteries on the way.

Was tempted to spring for a Pila too, but decided not to since I already have three TR-001's. Two for at home, and one at work and travel.

Ok so I designed and built a RBA carto to work with any tank system, can someone tell me the length of the cartos your using in the BB in mm please, that is total length, including the connector. Currently the one I made is 9mm in dia. and 40mm long, have a friend giving me a tank tonight to test it in. Only has 4 pieces total, Top, bottom, center pin, and silicone isolator. Coil and wick replacement is similar to a Kanger T3 Bottom Coil replacement.

I picked up some Mother's Billet Polish, makes the little ones disappear! And I used some on my old chrome Silver Bullet and now it looks new again! You'd never know I am the 3rd owner!

That would be 40 mm, on average, including the connector, with the center pin flush with the bottom.

Currently the one I made is 9mm in dia. and 40mm long...

Length looks good. Diameter sounds just a smidgen small ... almost all of my cartomizers, the Diver, etc. measure about 9.20~9.25 mm.

Only has 4 pieces total, Top, bottom, center pin, and silicone isolator. Coil and wick replacement is similar to a Kanger T3 Bottom Coil replacement.

Sounds simple enough (note that does NOT mean I think it was "easy" to design. )

Couple of questions:

- Will/can it use just resistance wire, or will it require NR wire?

- Will the center pin "float" a bit? Meaning, will it have some play to be a bit proud or shy of flush with the bottom of the connector, like a regular cartomizer? This is kind of handy for any devices with a fixed positive pin, and in the BB provides helps the connector seal against the silicon gasket.

- Will there be air holes in or just above the threads in the connector, like a standard cartomizer? This turns out to be a semi-fatal weakness in the Diver when used with a BB.

Probably don't have to tell you, if you'd like a guinea pig beta tester, just send a li'l ol' PM this way and I'm sure someone on the other end will display an appropriate level of interest.
