Hey caveman!

I don't know how many of the old conversations you've read around here but you would find that there are several of us, me included, who bought this thing without any intention of quitting smoking and it just happened on its own. Quite a miracle, to me and I think that speaks to what a help this thing is if you truly want to quit. My very first day with it, I only smoked about 4 cigs, instead of a pack and a half. After a few days of that, I decided to give quitting a try and I cut back to one or two a day. A couple of weeks later, I gave it up for good. It's hard to believe, to me. I had smoked for about 25 years!

Best of luck to you, and yes, I'm sure all of us here can relate to the excitement of getting our first one delivered and trying it out.

I smoked a pack a day or more for 20 years. Got my first e-cig two weeks ago and havn't smoked an analog in four days. Almost totally painless. A few times I yearned for a real ciggy but I just pulled out some high nic juice and puffed till the urge went away.

For the first time since I was 16 years old I feel like I have a fighting chance to quit tobacco and eventually nicotine as well. The longest I have gone without tobacco before now is 20 hours (and every second of it was pure hell). I realize that this e-cig thing is probably not good for me but I honestly believe that it is an improvement over breathing the smoke from burning leaves soaked in chemicals- and as more research and R&D is done e-cigs will only get safer.

This method of nicotine delivery also has the advantage of slowly stepping down the dose. You can very carefully reduce the nicotine in your own e-liquid by very small increments. You don't even have to smoke less often! Imagine taking a year to get down to very low dosage, eventually you'd be vaping pure PG! At that point it should be easy to lose interest in it all together...

Go for it Caveman! I am right here with you on your quest.

I remember back in June (may have been May I can't remembers) when I quit, I actually quit for the first month using Big Pharma's patches when I discovered ecigs. When I was on those patches I still enjoyed the smell of analogues but since vaping the ecig for a month or 2 BLEEEH!!! That must mean that I now don't care much at all for the burning tobacco even if someone bought me a pack by accident I would not be tempted and give them away. Now all I need to do is give up the ecigs or go down to no nic but I like the throat hit high nic gives me! Lets hope someone invents a whollop throat hit with no nicotine whatsoever needed!!

The day I got my my penstyle from puresmoker I quit. I finished my pack and haven't looked back.

I've got a dovetail to your question: I've found myself able to "social smoke" (i.e., smoke when drinking) and smoke cigars occasionally. The difference between trying to quit smoking w/out e-cigs and now is I don't feel the need/urge to smoke again the next morning.

I can have a tobacco cigarette or two during a football night, then not think about smoking afterwards (as long as I have my e-cig).

Anyone else found this to be true?
