I am going by what I have seen on here and on YouTube...
Then you're not paying attention to what's going on here too well and you're out of touch with reality outside of teh interwebz imho. Seems it's likely you're rather focused on seeing through the goggles of preconceived notions.

To be fair there's a lot of that going around.

Everyone I know where I live who vapes uses cigalikes or eGos.
This is the largest vaping forum on the internet and it has become the cloud chasing forum...

Those who resort to personal attacks in a discussion have the simplest minds of them all...

This is exactly why people mention things suggesting you're rough around the edges. Very blatant insults for nothing better than to be insulting in both posts.

Pot shouldn't call kettle black. Rather accept that both are the same in color and move forward.

No cheap shots necessary.
Really? Can you link to a post where I have attacked a member? I'm not new to discussions and can have level headed discussions. Apparently some can not; perhaps based on maturity levels...

Steve, I can assure you ECF is not where serious cloud chasers hang out. It may seem like they are everywhere, but there are few actual cloud chasers here. There are more cloud chasing wannabes, but ECF doesn't cater too them so they move on.

I quite enjoy the what do I need to blow cloud threads, or the ProVari is overpriced and underpowered and can't blow clouds threads... Dirty diaper/dish rag man is the future...

I think you have a severe hang up on that one video. It might be time to seek help of a professional nature. This can't be good for your stress levels. Wait, I forgot. You don't actually care about any of this.

But lets say, for the sake of argument, that you DO care. Did you comment on that video with some helpful safety advice, or at least a warning to others who might see it? (you may have. I did. hundreds of others did when I was there.) Did you flag the video as being unsafe? (I did that as well, knowing it wouldn't matter.) Or is dishrag man going to forever be your face for anybody who builds a sub ohm coil? Anytime somebody asks a question about a sub ohm build, is he going to be a rag man? If somebody asks why there mod feels warm, is he pulling a diaper? should we change the coil building forum to the dirty diaper hand forum? Just how far can we stretch out the references to ONE video?

I'm just curious.

Stevegmu, so let's get this straight. Your sample size of cloud chasers is based off of what YOU'VE seen on ECF and YouTube? That's not really a great base for argument, especially considering ECF is actually very lacking in cloud chasers. They actually tend to stay away from ECF because of stereotyping and blanket statements made by other members, which is also why you have only wannabes coming here to learn that do not know anything, but also can't learn because the actual cloud chasers who know what they are doing are being driven away. And YouTube? Really? I can search anything, literally anything and find someone doing something stupid on the page. All you talk about is the dirty diaper video...have you ever actually watched any other video? You might find it enlightening.

Also, just because where YOU live most people use cigalikes or eGos, does not mean thats how it is everywhere, or is how it should be. I know for a fact here in Massachusetts I see more people with APVs and mechanicals than I do cigalikes and egos. Your geographical area is not the end all be all for anything. Just in the US, culture and habits change from state to state, even city to city...never mind the whole world.

Finally, your retort to my response was very hypocritical, but I understand the need to defend yourself when feeling attacked. But I would also like to point out that throughout almost every page of this thread, you have attacked other people and their ideas using passive aggressive tactics and sarcasm, which somehow in your mind constitutes "level headed discussions". Just because you choose not to attack directly doesn't mean you are not doing it.

Kudos to JakeBailey, Beckdg and V00D00! Great points one and all. But, consider the source. The same poster uses a provari, yet he can't even post in a provari thread without making us cringe. The snobbery and elitism run far deeper than with just sub ohming. Sometimes the blanket is just permanently wet.

I'd also like to make clear that just because I think that cloud-chasing is silly, I am not attacking those who do it. I'm free to hold an opinion, and they are free to go on doing whatever makes them happy. I was disappointed that ONE store which is my favorite was one day clouded with fog, because there are other stores in this area that cater a great deal more to the cloud-blowing crowd, while this one in particular is more of a newbie, starter-kit setup kind of store, which is why I prefer it -- I may have several "big honking" mods and even a mech, but I still consider myself a newbie, and I like to go to this particular store to taste new stuff, and clouds of oddly-scented fog make that very difficult. But what it means is that if I go in and see this, then I won't do any tasting that day; it's not far from me, so I can always go some other time.

And I can understand the cloud-chasers here being upset about being attacked -- but not everyone who finds it silly is attacking you, and we don't appreciate being attacked for our opinions anymore than you like being attacked for cloud-chasing.

I'd give you a TON of :thumb::thumb: If I could.
Well said and I agree completely.

It's simple economics. Cloud chasers spend more money. They're hobbyists. They buy more juice, more mods, batteries and especially RDA's. Vaping is a lot more than smoking cessation nowadays.

That's the thing though. Clouds of vapor are very enticing for someone looking to get into vaping. They see someone with a mech mod blowing tons of vapor and they think, OooOO I want one of those! The exposure for this stuff is through the roof, with all the videos out there and diff stores selling these cool looking mods that do what they do. Especially younger guys, they don't want a honda civic, they want the truck with the big tires on it.

I'm not saying everyone is like this, but most people want the stuff that looks the best and makes them feel superior to others. It's human nature.

ego types and provari's are boring to most people. ( I have 4 provari's and countless small PV's, just to be clear)

People want the expensive shoes, the flashy ones. Hey, look at me. I'm cool, right?

Today's age.

The logic is in the idea that with the Egos it's almost always device failure or failure to use the wrong charger (perhaps because the wrong charger was provided). Whereas with mechs it COULD be battery failure from a bad battery, but it could also be bad modding, a coil build the battery can't handle or poor mod design. There are other factors that could cause an accident with a mech.

So the comparison is not really apples to apples but rather apples to apple pie.
You forgot INCORRECT battery type.

Ok; I'm completely fine with all that. But I still reserve the right to THINK whatever I like, and as I'm not attacking cloud-chasers for what they DO, I expect to not be attacked for what I THINK.

Only a percentage of the people...

There is also a percentage of the people that not only reject that mindset, but find it very distasteful.
A sign of what is going wrong with the world, if you will.

I can afford any car I want, but I drive a Pontiac Vibe.
I have a Rolex that I received from a relative which sits in my closet, while I wear a $10 Timex from Target.

And you can be quite certain that my lawn is off limits.
