Hey. I'm a gadget fiend. I have a wrist band that says. KEEP IT SIMPLE. Doesn't always help but it helps some.
I blew past my original PV budget in the fist week by double. I'm settling down now. I just buy replacement attys and juice at this point. Well I did just get the things I need to DIY my juice and some rebuild parts. I don't think that counts though. LOL.
Welcome to ECF from across the pond. Or more properly Hi Y'all.

Dougiestyle - did you have much electronics knowledge before you started fiddling with stuff, or did you pick it up as you went? I've got basic electronics skills, but haven't done any for years. I'm a bit reluctant to start messing because I've not had much experience with these types of batteries and I keep seeing stories of them going bad.

I can see my soldering iron beckoning me from a dusty box in the corner of my room...

Lol, sorry for the vendors list I posted resulting in bankrupting you :D

I'm not well up on bottom feeders (lol that sounds kind of rude ;) ) But there are so many VV (Variable Voltage) options available. For starters, Ego Twists, Lavatubes, lots of VV mods & of course the Provari - all available from UK vendors, modders.

I never bought to many gadgets. Only 2 twist, 2 kGo's and a vmax, plus all the cartos, clearos, and atty's. Had to make a special shelf in the closet and had to buy a new carry case to hold it all. Not me I never buy to many of anything. Also I got over 2000 feet of para cord for bracelets in the same shelf. I'ts my survival shelf. ROFLMAF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And it's been less than a month into it.

This x2

My 20 year old college went Physics to EE to CE to CS but now many years later I'm programming and network management. I knew soon after I got into vaping that I was headed for trouble. Now I want a mod with a microcontroller and bluetooth that talks to an Android app, stuffed with sensors so I can TAP TAP TAP start at 9W and cool down to 7W while adjusting the micro juice pump to meter out liquid to perfectly match the current temperature and airflow.

But seriously Dougiestyle, do you have any handy links to info on the likes of your mod. I've been slowly poking around the forums here but there's so much to go through that I haven't found good threads or other websites/blogs that go into things like breadboarding a prototype powered by a wall-wart and regulation, resistance/voltage display, things like that vs just getting 3.7V through a switch to a 501 socket.

This thread definitely struck a chord with me.

I'm also a gadget nut and the world of ecigs gave me an unparalleled opportunity to bankrupt myself within weeks. I was trying everything to see if it enhanced the experience.

I finally scored a SS GGTS (with brass accents) and Odysseus repairable off the classifieds (all mechanical and no bells or whistles) fired it up with some Belgian Cocoa flavour and the Hallelujah chorus from Handel's Messiah played long and loud!

Finally! No more buying (save mesh for the wick, two types of wire and a ton of juice). It's a quality mod and atty which is built to last forever and feels great in the hand (my only negative is that I can't put the damm thing down). The mod accepts virtually anything, so I carry a spare 510 atty and drip tip in case my home made coil pops, and I just change the 18650 battery every morning (never had one unexpectedly die on me so far). Building your own wick and coils is a tricky, messy experience at first but becomes second nature with practice and is less than a five minute job - changing from wick to mesh made the process a lot easier.

When I said "no more buying" I see GG has a new mod coming out - hmmm!

Re: Gadgetry - I never knew that I was a gadget freak until I joined the ECF. It can be pretty tempting to buy everything. Now I've made a deal with myself that in order to buy something, I must sell one of what I have. It makes me stop and think before diving into paypal. This will, of course, go out the window with anything Imeo puts out.
