Finnish ECF member, ViZi, has compiled the most comprehensive guide to commercial (and purchasable hobbyist) PV mods ever created! [It's illustrated so I especially like it.:D]

Originally in his native language, English speakers had to view it with Google Translate, which kind of worked. ViZi himself now has provided an accurate, professional English version at www.e-savuke.com/ecig_mods.htm. [I will miss Google's garbling of 'atomizer' as 'atomic soybean', but I suppose ViZi had to sacrifice humor for clarity.;)]

Here is an example (from the top of his alphabetic listing) of the kind of information ViZi provides:

AdapteveR (1x 16340 3.7V / 2x CR123A (17340) 6.0V / 2x CR2 6V) $100
The Basic model will use one CR123A battery, can be vaped at 6 Volts with a HVS add-on. Threading can be changed with built-in adapters to take a Joye510, DSE-801 or DSE-901 atomizer.

Notice the links to information about the mod, where to buy it, and reviews of it. [I have masked the links here so that the videos are not embedded.]

And that's not all. He provides a table that tells you which battery is used in each mod, with links to each mod and where it can be purchased. And he shows a comparative photo of all the batteries used (from the wimpy 10440 to the powerhouse 18650), each labeled with voltage and actual mAh. Oh, he also provides discount coupon codes for many of the suppliers.

A magnificent effort and a must resource for anyone even vaguely interested in mods. I admire him immensely for what he has created.

A link to his guide should be stickied in some appropriate forum (not sure which) and placed in the ECF Library.

Well done, ViZi!

IMO an important thing to look for in buying a mod is the way they are wired. I think the one that use solder to hold the wires connecting the switch to the atomizer adaptor are not made as good as the mechanical ones. I have had mod that the wires broke on 2 different occasions. This is definitely something to consider.
