And this is about Cadeau. Her full name is Précieux Cadeau. That's Cajun French for Precious Gift.
She is a saved feral female who is about 7 months old now. She is as sweet as she can be.
The way I got her was as a Gift from God. I set traps on occasion and relocate the cats, to keep them from digging in Trash Cans. This one didn't go crazy when I approached the cage, just mewed softly... nor when I unlocked it, picked it up, and then carried it to the porch... all she did was stand up and softly mew. So I brought her inside. She still only stood at attention in the center of the cage, where I couldn't touch her, but she didn't strike at me. So while I was trying to clip it open so I could touch her, she came out, trotted across the floor into my office, and hid behind my desk for hours. Wouldn't even come out for Tuna Fish and Water. That was March 22nd of this year.
I wrote to a lady here on ECF, who has since become a very dear friend, because I knew she had experience with feral cats, and a lot of knowledge about cats in general. I've had cats before, but this was a first. She guided me through the first steps, and from then on, every step of the way, for a solid week, via PMs.
After I was able to get her from behind the desk (in a Cubby Hole), my friend told me to keep her in the Bathroom, to calm down, so I did that. By the 2nd day, I knew I'd need a name for her, because I was taking her to the Vet soon. I picked Précieux Cadeau, and I call her Cadeau... though I really call her Baby a lot. On the 3rd day, she seemed pretty calm, and came out some when I entered the Bathroom, so I opened that door and left the Bathroom and Bedroom Hall doors open, and put her on the bed. She stayed there. By that night, we were pretty good friends, and she's been sleeping with me ever since. After about a week, she was given the run of the house. She still hid some, from strange noises, but has settled in quite nicely.
It turned out that she was already spayed, and probably already had the shots she got, but I didn't know, and the Vet said that a double-vaccination wouldn't hurt her, so I had that done for an Indoor cat, and was able to save about $100. I'm on a very tight budget, so that money has gone a long way for food and litter, and some very cheap toys. But this little kitty is so sweet, and so precious, I had to do whatever I could to protect her.

And your babies are just darling... it's too bad they can't stay that little, but they did grow up into beautiful adults!!

Fb's 17 plus now, long & happy life.

I saved about that many in a new litter years ago. I saw them, so the mother relocated them under a shed. It took 3 days to trap all of them... was worried about snakes and owls getting them. Gave them all a little bath and kept them in a huge dog carrier I rigged up for them. It took about 3 weeks to find homes for all of them, but I did it. The last 2 went together. It was a fun project, but rather time consuming, so I was really happy, and relieved, when they were all adopted. I already had Lapis and Obsidian, and 2 other dogs, and I couldn't take on more then.

The pics I have are pre-digital era, and are in storage somewhere, but I found one that an old b/f turned into a painting for a cassette cover...
So as soon as the batts for my camera are charged (I don't have a scanner) I will try to take a pic of it to post, along with the whole story!!!

Okay... this one is for VG... although I'm not gonna get into the whole story right now.
This is 'Spunky'... the little feral cat who adopted me...
and the pic is actually sideways.
He was rubbing on the side of the building, and when an old b/f (who was an artist/musician) saw the pic, he imagined that the cat was dancing... so he cut the kitty out of it, and did this little painting for the cover of a cassette that we had made together.

This is 'Bugs", my sun-bleached Beach Kitty... and so named because he "bugged the
" out of me!!! LOL!!
He was the runt of the litter, so I had to bottle feed him... and he was also the 1st one to be weaned... gaining a pound for every month, and finally topping out at 15lbs or so!!
He passed away just shy of his 16th B'day, after surviving a horrible accident, followed by 2 surgeries, and had a rod in one of his legs plus a plate in his hip. The Vet thinks he just gave up...
He had more purr-sonality than all of the other cats I've ever had put together and I will always miss him!!

That was so sweet of you. I saw that there were recent posts in my Subscriptions, so I came back to find THIS!!! What a great surprise.As mentioned before, this prize will go to a friend of mine who's been trying to quit with Blu. I'll ask for them in my PM, but I going to want about 20 Business Cards to pass out to people I talk with who are actually interested in Buying. When people see how Good an e-cig can be, by actually Trying one, on a good PV with a good clean juice, they are amazed. Stacey has been smoking a lot still because Blu was not Satisfying. When I let her try mine with my 100% VG a week or 2 ago, she really liked it. When I told her that she could get Flavors, she got really excited and said "With a good e-cig, and Flavors, I know I could get off of cigarettes." When I let her try my Cinnamon Red Hots just the other day, she was sold!!!
She wants a cig-alike, so this will be perfect for her. I'll take some pictures of her when I give it to her, so you can see how happy she is with it. Guess I'll post them here, unless a better place can be mentioned.
