Hi friends! It almost seems as if you can't get into this hobby without rebuilding SOMETHING. But there's so many RBAs and clones to choose from! As a newbie, what's the most idiot proof atty to rebuild? I'm not looking to sub ohm vape or anything like that. I just much prefer dripping over clearos and would like to expand my horizons :) Thanks for any suggestions!

Most drippers are just about your personal taste. There are some differences in performance though. Some might give you a bit more flavor from having a smaller top cap, some will have better vapor production because they have bigger airflow holes. Honestly my first dripper was a Patriot clone and love it. It has a large deck to help with ease of building and placing coils. It also has holes in the posts to make it even easier to build. All in all for ~$20 it has been a great dripper for me. I also hear good things about the IGO series of rda's, but I haven't had any experience with them aside from looking at them. The IGO-W would be a good place to start also.

Other questions you have to ask yourself is do you want/need an rda that is 22mm? Or are smaller diameter rda's ok with you?

I haven't got these yet but in the process. The Russian 91% RBA supposedly is easy to rebuild. Something to do with the platform. I would suggest you visit YouTube and do a search for "Rip Tripper" and or "ToddsReviews". Both have excellent vids on the Russian 91%. Good luck.

My plan is to build the Micro Coil. Fairly basic and simple as far as I can tell. Pay attention to the size Kanthel wire i.e. 28 gage 32gage and so forth. Also pay attention to the proper cotton to make sure it is pure and not bleached. Also, a company has built a little device for holding your wire that's helps with building the coil. Its Sqvape or something. I will look for it and post back.

Ok the maker of the coiler tool is QVapes. Google Qvapes Coiler and you'll find it. Lastly, the Russian 91% is often sold out but it is a clone of the Kayfun Lite RBA. I think the Kayfun Lite is easier to find in stock. It's either Kayfun Lite Plus or Kayfun Lite 3.1. Good luck again and let me know if it works out.

I would recommend trying out an igo-l since it's such an easy dripping atomizer to build, super low cost, and they work really well. These things will spoil clearos for you!

I was looking at that one! Even my LR 306 atty has spoiled clearos for me. I am bored to tears with them now!!

I'm not a dripper but I've been hearing good things about The Dripper Pro by Leo. The build is simple, almost the same as a Protank build. Todd has a review on it too that you might want to look into. This dripper is different than the other ones.

Yesss I have seen this one too and I love it, I also love that you can buy coils for it if need be. I just wonder what it would look like on my itaste and spinner as I've yet to order a ProVari :D

I have been dripping for a couple of months and have been so pleased with the igo-L. Simple and super easy to rebuild. Keep in mind these only hold about 10 drops. I have no problems with that. I have friend(s) that swear about how easy the Eternity is and it holds up to 40 drops. They are very easy to rebuild (YouTube Videos). I have 2 of these e-Liquid Calculator.

What I am looking at next (and were recommended to be just as simple) is $14.39 Kayfun Lite Styled Rebuildable Atomizer (4.5mL) - clear tank section at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
$26.70 Russian 91% Styled Rebuildable Atomizer (4.5mL) at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I find that with dripping, the flavors are not as muted as with some of my atomizers. I don't see spending a ton of money so that is why I suggest FT but it will also introduce you to dripping to see if you like it. Good luck to you.

For an RBA I will definitely have to vote for the Kayfun Lite style, by far the easiest and idiot proof of any RBA and more than tons of info here for help.
For an RDA and ease of use, try something with holes in the posts to get started, it will be much easier as you get used to landing the coil tails.
For either one, I would recommend the micro coil - easiest to get right and most forgiving. Pick a ball of yarn (white or unbleached if you can find it) at a local store, boil some of it, string it through the coil and off you go.

Do you have kanthal already? If not, you can't beat the manufacturer selling on fleabay- http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kanthal-A1-...249?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c77fe7e79
There are one or two other cheaper ones out there, but I don't know anything about their wire, and Temco is so cheap already why bother?

I'll second the Nimbus clone. I bought mine from a local shop. Went in looking for a RDA to compliment my genesis style attys, and the guy working there (VERY knowledgeable!) recommended it to me over some of the others that cost more. He would point out which ones needed the air holes bored out and so on...this one, I could build right out of the box. I also noticed, this is the same atty he had on his mod. Can take dual coils, but a single works equally well (I run a single in mine). Definitely easier to build on than most of my genesis style attys. not very expensive either

I will say, though, with just about any of these devices, tear it down as best you can, wash it in hot water and dawn dish soap rinse well. Soak it in alcohol, ultrasonic clean it, dry it out good and so on. Get one taste of the machining oils and you will understand why I said that.

I started with 32awg kanthal, but it was a little too thin (would get sheare off in post hole if I over tightened). I found 30 awg to be perfect for me...I don't sub-ohm. With the batteries you are putting this on (and yes, your ProVari when you get one), those wire gauges will give you some nice coils in the 1.5-2.5ohm range (although you can make them whatever you want), the 30, though is much easier to work with, and will hold up better to changing wicks. Plus you can still wind them with enough wire, that you could do dual coils and still keep resistance high enough to keep the regulated mods happy.

As for wick, get some silica/ekowool, some 100% cotton yarn! stainless mesh and organic cotton balls. Play with them all, see what works best for you. The boiled cotton yarn works OK, but seems a bit too densely packed, and will dry out and burn for me every time. I've been having my best luck with the organic cotton balls...just remember, less is more!

No, I don't have any kanthal yet. Someone recommended Lightening Vapes for those supplies :)

Very much this. Down side... you will likely want to drill out the air hole to 1/16. If you don't have a drill just borrow one from a neighbor or ask the first dude you see. Igo-L is well worth every penny.

Igo-L is the first RDA I bought. It isn't the last that I bought, but it's the one I always turn to for a reliable, simply awesome vape.

It's just much cheaper getting kanthal from the manufacturer. TEMCO sells it for ~$7 for 100'. I got it straight from their website and they have free shipping.

Resistance Wire

Also for wicking material I have heard good things about cotton yarn from Walmart http://www.walmart.com/ip/Peaches-Creme-4.70g-Yarn-Ecru/21668263 or I personally use Organic cotton balls from CVS or sterile cotton balls also from CVS. It's cheap and will last you forever.

Not sure if you have tools, but I also found a great set for rda/rba coil building: http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/living-solutions-tool-set/ID=prod6115465-product was about $7.50 at Walgreens.

Lightning vapes is within $1 is the same or within $1 of temco. I've bought from both and they both are good vendors. Lightning vapes does have a few other things you may want to try (various sizes of silica wick, stainless, kanthal wire etc)
