thinking about making the switch to rebuildable atomizers.

Anyone know of any good mod clones that are black? I've looked at stingray and tree of life clones, but I can't seem to find any stingraya with rly good ratings (many of which had no reviews). I'm thinking making a switch to an 18650ish sized mod so if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be greatly appreciative.

P.s I'd love to get a good stingray cause the black versions look frikkin sweet, but again no reviews to be found :-(

This is just me, but when I started investigating clones I came to the conclusion that a copper clone would have the lowest voltage drop even with a spring switch. Since it was also my initial switch to mechs and rda I decided to go as cheap as possible (hey, maybe I won't like it...lol). I ended up buying from 101 Vape a Brass Nemesis w/a Plume Veil rda. I choose the very inexpensive Nemesis because I could upgrade the switch and contacts. Glad I made the purchase, cause it hits like a beast. Haven't checked the voltage drop with the original contacts and spring switch, but I think it's pretty low.

That said, check out you tube videos for the ones you are considering (ie search "tree of life clone reviews" in you tube).

I think I'm gonna go with this hcigar stingray clone cause it looks sweet and I've read that hcigar makes pretty good clones. Also I found a few YouTube videoso and they all seemed very positive for the hcigar stingray clones so I think I found my winner. Now it's just a matter of saving up for it and batteries and charger.

So I can't believe I found what I found today. In an old toolbox my father gave me several years ago and I still have at my parents I found a fluke 77-3 multimeter. Box itself looked old (shocker), but I opened it up and everything was spotless. I asked my dad about it and he said it was just an extra one he had when he worked at his old job as an electrician that the company gave the electricians. Sadly I highly doubt I'll ever need a meter this fancy so I'm debating on selling it. The meter itself appears to be in mint condition and as far as my dad can remember it was never used. Still has all the paperwork and manual which like the meter itself is spotless. Anyways after voicing my surprise at finding a $200+ meter I have a question. I want to stick around 1.5 ohms for my rebuildable. How do you know what gauge wire to use, what length to cut it to, how many wraps to do, etc. I was thinking about getting 28 or 30 gauge kanthal a1 wire. Am I headed in the right direction?

Yep, 28 and 30 gauge are the standard sizes; 32 for those small coils like in the protank and 28 is often used in rebuildables.

As for the fluke I'd say keep it; I've got a cheap multimeter at the moment and I'm always forgetting to turn it off so when I need it the d@#$ battery is dead and I gotta go get another odd sized battery.
So next week I plan to go to town to look for a good meter that uses standard sized AA batteries and has autocutoff.

When you buy a mech mod its usually just the mod itself; nothing else.

When you buy a regulated mod, they can often be found sold as a kit, with charger, and cheap tanks included, sometimes also including a battery/batteries. Both my vamo and zmax came as complete kits, with batteries and tanks. My chi you mech was just a mech alone, as I knew it would be.

Ok I figured it was just the mod, but I was kinda hoping haha. Guess I'm lookin at around $100 after a battery for each size it can use and a charger that can charge all of them haha.

Do you have a regulated mod already or are you just using ego batteries so far?
I highly recommend a regulated mod when using rba's for the first time; helps with troubleshooting and provides for some degree of protection.
Also on a mech one of the things I would look for is the option to use a kick with regular 18650 batteries and not need a special size battery just to put in a kick; that's one of the reasons I chose my chiyou; I can use it with or without a kick with 18650 or 18350 batteries which are the same batteries I use on my vamo and zmax - plus I get the added bonus they all use the same m21x1 threading so I get to fit stuff together in all sorts of ways.

I currently have a baby bullet. Also according to vaperoyalty the stingray clone is able to use a kick with any of the 3 sized batteries, but I'll be honest I haven't a clue what a kick is or does.

a kick module sits on top the battery to give you some control and protections on a mech instead of buying a full regulated mod.
if you get a mech with a kick tube you can use you mech with a kick, and if you fry the kick, you can take out the kick and kick tube and just go straight mech if necessary.

1. It's good to see I'm not the only night owl around here lol. 2. I read up on kicks. I think I'd prefer a mech mod with kick option like the stingray I want to get. Soon as I can manage to save enough for everything I'll let you know. I can't wait to get it. Also I'm still waiting for my dang kayfun from slowtech. Been two weeks since I ordered it and I don't think it's gone well... anywhere closer to me.

Are VV mods basically a mechanical mod with a kick already part of the mod itself?

Yes that's exactly what a vv mod is; it's like the kick is integrated into the device;
that's why a mech with a kick makes for a modular and flexible configuration; what's missing in it is the screen.

It's only a matter of time before we see more stuff like this I think:
kmax control head:

but with a screen included.

oh wait; maybe that one has a screen but just hard to see?

How exactly would I use the kick with the stingray? According to vaperoyalty the hcigar clone can use a kick with of the 3 sized batteries, but I'm not sure how that's possible unless I'm missing something from the page here. HCigar Stingray Mod Clone Black Copper

Interesting: yes it does indeed say that it can use kick in all three battery sizes;
I'm guessing for 650 plus kick you use longest and shortest tubes.
For 350 plus kick it would be the middle and shortest .
For 500 plus kick it would be the longest tube.

I guess I'll find out when I get the money for it. Am I correct in thinking that's a good clone? I've heard and read good things about hcigar clones. Also when I buy a mod I only use that mod for years. I got my baby bullet 3 years ago and that's pretty much the only mod I've used the entire time so I want to make sure what I get next will last me another eternity. I am going to get a mechanical mod (I like the stingray cause I think it looks cool haha) , but I want to make sure what I'm getting next is as bulletproof as my bb has been
