I have only 3 different horizontal coils on hand to make a personal observation from but when has that ever stopped me? I do see from the pix posted of the rare problem on a few Echo cartos combined with the 3 I have open in hand right now, the only thing they are doing the same is making the coil horizontal.

The pix of the Echo shows a larger contact area around the coil which may lead to the enhanced flavor many report. The GO-GO seems to use a lot less glue and simply lays the coil horizontal and puts a dab of glue to hold the tube and coil in place. No glue taste but not as much flavor as the Echo.

The Ego Mega and a no-name (believed to be an SLB) regular use diffferent methods from the 2 already spoken of. Overall though I personally feel the large capacity horizontal coil is the future of the carto for not only amount of juice held but better flavor and/or durability. You have to think at some point (hopefully sooner than later) that one of the methods for a horizontal coil will be adopted by most other makers.

Look at the Ego - they hit a winner at that stage of e-cig development and many months later, you'd have to take off your socks to have enough digits to count how many reliable and proven copies there are made of it. Hopefully, the same will hold true for horizontal coil cartos. :)

EDIT: Here is a picture of one method of attaching a horizontal coil as done by Kanger. The Echo's are done by Hangsen.

Not a good snap as it was with my Droid X but serves the purpose. Note how the two "prongs" of the coil are attached. The tube was removed to make this into a dripper and where some have too much glue, this almost has not enough. The white coloration at the top right of the inside is light glare, not glue.

Whoever originally posted that pushing the filler down will help...Many thanks. I was losing flavor. Does someone mind reposting the instructions for cleaning? I know I have seen them, but this thread has gotten long, and I am lazy.(hey, it's Saturday)
I don't have an ultrasonic cleaner.

You are likely to mean the thread linked below. Although it was originally authored by Mohawkz for the GO-GO, both Igo and Echo users have found it beneficial. All are large capacity, horizontal coils so it has been proven by many of us to work.

Hi All,

I must be incredibly lucky. I've been vaping my Echo for 20 days now. I have had no flavor or echomizer problems. I've been using 555 & Chocolate E-juice (100% PG) and am still using the same echomizer. I refill with a syringe inserting it about 3/4 down the outside edge of the unit. When I see liquid begin to show at the top, I stop. I then wipe the bottom (battery connector area) of the echomizer and replace the battery and vape away. I'm at about 120ml so far and still going (Energizer Bunny?). What can I be doing wrong?

That is indeed a very handsome Echo. Understated and elegant. I have been trying to order some drip tips from IkenVape but the website is down for maintenance. Hopefully this is just a Sunday thing. Does anyone know for sure?

Nice mountain bike by the way. :)

Thank you JimmyJet! Got a shot of the Echo 1300, chrome. This thing sure is blingin'.

Wow, that is good to hear. That sounds like what I was getting with Go-carts and was expecting with these but I haven't been that successful yet.

I want to get an Echo and I was going to go for the 1300 but everyone says it's so big! What is the difference in the sizing of the batteries for the Echo....anybody got that in inches ;)

The Echo 1300 is the smallest 1300 on the market and is 6 1/8 in long with drip tip included. It is about the same size as the ego t 1,000. It is a little longer than the Go-Go but not as fat.

Got my Echo last week and it is truly amazing. Just a small complaint... the tip! This has been slowly getting more and more aggravating as time goes by. That rubber tip that the echo comes with is the perfect shape, i love a tapered tip like a cigarillo (think Black&Mild). I always enjoyed hanging a cigarillo between my teeth while driving around, etc. However on the echo, it comes off way too easily. Within my first day I had the echo come off the tip five times, and one of those times it bounced off the pavement violently. Since it's bounced off pavement/concrete/linoleum 5 times. Also when I go to put it in my pocket, more times than I can count the tip comes off and I end up having to retrace my steps and dig through the gravel/dirt to find it.

I've made it a little better though. What i did was bring a pot of water to boil, soak the rubber tip in it for a few minutes, then quickly take it out and jammed it on the top of an eyedrop bottle cap (e-liquid cap might also work). Just enough to expand the opening a little. Then poured cold water over it, let it sit a minute then presto! larger, snugger opening. My first attempt made my first tip almost too large, luckily it shrank a teeny bit a few minutes later. They're a lot tighter now, although it still pops off several times a day.

Also I noticed the rubber is too elastic (always been so, but more with use). It flops down cutting off the airflow now unless I hold it constantly :( For this I looked into curing or hardening rubber, but aside from having a laboratory this can't be done.

My next brainstorming lead me to try and think of a way to insert a metal ring (I don't know what to call it, a wrapped metal band like a miniature key ring?) inside the opening, that would expand and provide an extra snug fit. I've yet to determine what to use for that. Still wouldn't resolve the flimsiness of the tapered end...

A whistle tip from a 801/302/m201 cart fits perfectly. Make sure that it's the hard plastic ones. Mine from a m201 cart fits in snuggly.

I was finally able to graduate to an echo from a Kr808d-1. I liked the 808 but found myself constantly having to refill cartos. I still like the 808 because I have only found one all day vape juice, and I'm look for at least three, and the small cartos are great for testing juice.

I got mine from Mountain Vapor, went and picked it up in person. Originally I was going to get 1-650mah and 1-1300mah battry but after holding the 1300 I found it really was like a No.8 or 9 cigar. I got both 1300mah because I wanted the additional time that it holds. Mine has the blue led and does have a cut off but I find that I don't exceed the 5 or so seconds very often and it fires right up almost immediately.

I'm really liking the echo because the carto fills really last and no button to push. I really gave it the test, took it to the casino on a fill and I was there from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. I got home around 8pm and it was still going. I thought it must need to be refilled but only took about 1.5 to 2ml to refill. I felt like I was vaping all day sitting at the slot machines. I think my wife went though 2 pack while we were there and I was keeping up to her with my echo.

I just wanted to thank Dennis and his staff at Mountain Vapor. They were very helpful, and let us knew when those dual coil echo cartos are coming in.

Another beautiful picture!

Thank you Tx! I set up an album yesterday with these pics in them, only a few so far but I'm sure there will be more.

> P.V. Pics here. <

On a side note the other day I popped the led cover off of one of my batteries to check out the LED setup. The led on these batts, blue or red, has to be one of the smallest led's I've seen! Like a grain of sand, smaller than 1mm square. It looks to be soldered in to the board which also senses air movement as well, there are two small holes in the board. I noticed by gently blowing on the led side of the batt that the led would light up briefly. Interesting. I was thinking about replacing the led with a white one, though these are so small I think I'll stick with either the blue and red.

Haven't had the problem with airflow but I definitely know what you mean with the falling off. I've lost one at work and so I try to keep a careful eye on them. They come off all the time. I might pick up a 801 drip tip but, to be honest, I actually LIKE the feel of the rubber tips better than delrin or plastic. Hopefully, they will make the tips a bit bigger and longer. Maybe that would solve the problem. I definitely plan on saving the tips as the echomizers die or become unusable for backups.
