okay...as a newbee I am getting kinda confused over volts and oms etc. Besides my echo autos I have 808d-1 bats both auto and manual and have just won a 510 kit that is on its way to me. I like my echo but want to try different things as sometimes the carts just do not seem to do well. So I was looking at these boge carts but am confused over the different ohm ratings etc.
I know my 808 bats are 280 mah so that makes them ? volt. And which boge cart would do well?
I do not know anything about about the 510 coming except it is 180 mah fs kit from my pv shop. volt? and which boge for this one?
And can someone tell me what volt the echo is?
And just to make this longer I am understanding that the LR carts require a stronger battery which would equate to more volt?
The mah rating of a battery is separate from its voltage. The mah tells you how much capacity the battery has (how long it will last). Your 808 batteries are going to be nominal 3.7 volts but in reality they will come off the chargers at about 4.2 volts and as you use it it will drop down to around 3.3 volts at which point the protection circuitry in the battery will shut off the battery in order to prevent over discharge (which is very bad for batteries).
I have never had any 510 batteries, but from what I have read they are also nominal 3.7 volt batteries but they have circuitry to regulate the voltage to something lower (I think I have read something like 3.4 volts, but don't hold me to that). The idea here is that the voltage will remain pretty consistent as the battery is used but will be lower than "true" 3.7 volt batteries like the 808's during the first part of the discharge cycle where you can get up to 4.2 volts. If I am wrong about that, please some 510 people pipe up and correct me.
And power (measured in watts) is what we are trying to tweak here. At any given voltage, if you want more power you can get it by lowering the resistence of the cartomizer. This is why you can get atomizers and cartomizers at a variety of differnet resistences. Everyone has their own preference as to what wattage they prefer, and it that preference may change depending on the juice being vaped.
While lower resistences give you more power, it also drains your battery faster. This is why it is not feasible to use low resistence (LR) cartomizers (e.g. 2.0 Ohms) on little batteries like the 280 mah battery you mention. To use these LR cartos you should have larger capacity batteries like the Echos at 650 mah or 1300 mah.
