"sealed" is a bad term that I myself am trying to correct around the forums. Sorry. They are meant to be more drip resistant. The holes are under the post and an accidental drip from your cart is less likely to fall right into the battery and kill it. I'll look around for adapters with slots in the post. Look at the bottom of your cartomizer. See how the center post has a slot running horizontally? This is what you need in an adapter. All 808 stuff has this slot. Now that Mattvus figured it out, I'm shopping for some myself so I'll get back sometime today.

I'm not finding exactly what I'm looking for. But again, feel free to buy anything with an 808 thread. These ROCK for testing juices and only hold .5ml of juice. 808d Tank Atomizer
Before I jump on these, what tip would you recommend getting for it...or will the rubber echo tips fit? I'm ok with them; I know others don't like them.. And are they easy to clean?

Thanks for all your help!

I can only speak highly of Bill at NW vapors. I had a minor battery issue that still left the battery in useable condition, just not optimal condition and he immediately sent out a replacement leaving me with an emergency backup battery. I'm vaping his Kahlua and coffee right now. Light on the kahlua sweetness and the coffee flavor is amazing. Like a rich dark roasted coffee. So good it's going in a tank!

I must have a different charge kit from you because my USB charger does not change from a red light - I've charged one for 10-plus hours and no difference - BUT, the blue LED light on the end did go out, and I think Mattvus is right, that's the indicator that it's done. The adapter light was green when I first tried using that; haven't used it much in the last couple days as I'm just plugging straight into the computer.

Looking at my battery, it doesn't have a hole in the center post, unless it's microscopic. There is an open ring around the middle post, but no hole in the post itself. Does this mean I have a sealed battery? Unlikely... I have 1300mah auto batteries from SmokeTek; I thought there were only sealed batteries with the manuals?

Still would love a link to a recommended atty/tip combo for this unit - I've bought the wrong stuff twice in four orders this week and only the wonderfully personal service of the ECF suppliers has saved me :)

The usb charger not the power supply should have a tiny led that goes from red to green when it is charged along with the led on end should go out. The led on the charger is very hard to see and is on the bottom when plugged into the power supply. I have to stick my thumb under it to see the reflection.

Yeah, mine must be different because the red-light on the USB charger does not go out. I can see it just fine when charging on the computer's USB port, but unless charge time is over 10 hours, I'm thinking the red light doesn't change for me. I think the blue LED at the end of the battery is my only indicator.

If the usb charger is plugged in with no battery attached what color is the led? I've never had one that either didn't change color or turn off when the battery is done. How long after the battery light goes out have you left it on the charger?

I'd rather look at this carefully then dismiss it as probably nothing. It the usb doesn't stop trying to charge the battery, even when it's completely charged, it could cause problems.

Like I said, the battery light goes off a while before my usb light changes.

I emailed Rob at smoke tek too to see if there has been a change in battery design. No battery failures on MY watch! Unless you accidentally drop it in the kitchen sink while it's full of suds. Then I can't help. :p
In the meantime, if you are near it and the LED on the battery goes out, just feel that the battery isn't getting hot. If it is getting hot, take it off. If it's not hot, you can leave it on to see if the light ever changes or goes out.

Got a reply from Rob already. Direct quote from my email

"Thanks for checking with me. Most of the chargers I sold for the first several months did not change colors, they were always red. This is normal behavior. The only thing that matters in my opinion is the LED on the battery, when it goes out, the battery is fully charged. When you plug the battery in, if the LED doesn't come on, it doesn't need to be charged. Hope this helps!

I just plugged my charger in without a batt on it and the light on the usb portion that screws onto the batt was red so I would assume that it is just to let you know there is power to it. The light on the wall portion of the charger, which you aren't using since you are plugging straight into your computer, stayed green. I just got my echo kit from SmokTek 3 days ago so I figure we have the same kit. Apparently on some of the older kits the light on the charger never changed color. I can tell you that with mine the red light on the wall portion goes from red to green maybe 30 min before the light on the end of the batt goes out, but the red light on the usb portion that screws into the batt doesn't change. I was so excited the first couple days I checked the chargers constantly to see how long it would take. Initial charge was only like 3 or 4 hours and since then it has taken probably 6 to 8 hours. Sorry for rambling but I hope there was some useful information somewhere in there.

Interesting. I ordered my Echo kit from mtnvapor.com. I've been dripping in an old, tiny Blu carto, and I realized that my 1300mAh echo is sealed while the 650mAh echo is not. I can only drip on the smaller batt - not a problem, just an observation.

I just ordered the 808 tank kit from said site, and I'll follow up with their performance on the echo asap. Also just discovered that they give a free echo carto with 30ml+ bottle of thier juice. That's a good incentive for repeat business.

Wow.............I'm really confused. All my chargers go from red uncharged to green charged when plugged into a powered USB hub. Also when did the Echo batteries become sealed? If that is the norm then I received a new 1300 yesterday from SmokTek and there is definitely a hole in the battery post which ineicates to me that it is unsealed. ???????

All of my chargers, usb dongle and wall thingie, stay red no matter what. I have to watch for my LED light on my Echo to go out, not such an easy task when you have the "stealth" model. It's a PITA, but I make it work with a mirror jury rig I've set up. :p Mine are also unsealed. I've heard some people have the "drip resistant" ones, but I'm not sure if that's only on newer ones or what. I got my Echo kit back in December.
