I love the Echos. And I think the weight of a tank system would be to much for my "cigar" style, keep the vape in the mouth technique. But all that being said, it is a automatic. Who knows, maybe we have a new "Provarry VS. Lavatube" catastrouphy of compairison coming to the Echo comunity. I'm loyal and old school so I'm diging my trench right now in favor of the Echo.Viva La Echo....Viva la Echo.

Price wise the Echo is definitely winning.

The new Janty neo classic auto bat promo said it was Ego-510 compatable, and I'm sure it's only as powerfull as the Ego. I just havent seen much hapening in the auto vaping world and thought it was worth a mention. Obviously janty realized there is a market worth chasing in the larger mah auto bat industry. I thought the fact that it has its own new (I have never seen this style on an Ego ) tank system that holds all the liquid, and flawlessly fits its design, looked like Janty said "That Echo is kicking but-How are we possibly going to compete with something so perfect?"

I have yet to read about any tank system that can even remotely mimic the Echo cartos for convienience, taste, and leek prof abilities.

I haven't heard about that particular auto but there has been a 900 ego type auto battery around for a while. It will be hard to beat the echo for price, overall looks and performance.

I took a look at the Janty Neo and don't think it will appeal to many other than the Janty diehards. It may generate some good hype about the new generation auto batteries though. Like all Janty products the price is high. They are priced at 84.00 for a 650 kit. The 2ml tankomizer is 16.00 and isn't much different than the Riva-T tank that is only 5.00.

Hey guys, don't really know where to ask so correct me if I'm in the wrong place, but I will be upgrading from my blu in a week or two and am very interested in the echo.

I think it looks great and I'm already used to an auto battery. My questions are.. how sensitive is the auto battery (chicago wind here)?

What's compatible with the diff model echos as far as cartos go? For instance, I have no idea if I want the echo-e or what.

And finally, can u go all day with one echo carto without topping off during the day or is that too risky?

One more (I know I lied with the finally) on average how many echo cartos does one need in a month? (1, 5, 10?)

Thanks for any help.

Last night I tried the boiling method that was put up here a few days ago on 4 of my Echo cartos. I boiled for 15 min 2 times. When I blew them out I also used Darthvper's qtip method and mad a lot more water came out!!!!!!!! Thanks Darthvper! I then put some rolled up tissue in them and am going to turn the tissue around tonight. Thinking after two days with the tissue I will let them dry another couple of days to make sure they are dry before filling. I do think that maybe since these are larger then the boge cartos in the video that they might need a third boil. This morning I smelled them and one still had a faint juice smell. Will let you know if these work well when dry.
.

Quoting an old message here, wondering the best way to clean the Echo cartos. I tried a method on YouTube (boil for five minutes, let dry overnight) and that definitely did not work. Juice discoloration still visible, and still wet.

But does boiling longer, more times, drying longer work?

(Turkey baster method doesn't work, as they're too big. And I'm trying to avoid buying anything more this week - it's been costly!!)

Hello startlifeEndlife,

You are truely in the right spot for asking about Echos. I will try to answere your questions, but please be aware that txtumbleweed and charlz are the "go to" experts, and hopefully will chime in also.

1) Don't worry about wind. Not a problem at all. Echos will not miss fire from noise, wind vibration, or anything else you could possibly think of. They are entirely pocket friendly. Ego automatics on the otherhand used to, and may still, fire constantly from noise or wind. I am from Iowa, and see your in the windy city. Our winters are the same, and trust me the cold has no effect either. I can snowblow for 45minutes in 10* with no problems. That is even with it hanging from my mouth the whole time. I come inside with my beard encrusted in frozen snow from the blower still puffing away on my Echo.

2)As to whats compatable, I will leave that to the others to help you with. They know exactly which products realy are worth getting. That being said the Echo-E is a 510 connection, and is NOT automatic, and has a smaller Echomomizer at @2ml compaired to @3ml with the standard Echo automatic. I realy have never heard any reason to want the 510 compatable option. Generaly 510 stuff sucks in my oppinion.

3)Echomizer top off time. I rarely use more than one Echomozer in a day. Maybe if I'm working outside and chainvaping. Because they hold 3ml juice(about 3 regular cartos worth) You realy are going to have to work at blowing through that much juice in a day. I will add though that I try not to burn the Echomizers compleetly dry anymore. Just makes them last longer.

4)How many Echomizers one needs in a month is actualy a realy good question, but hard to answere. There are a lot of variables. A) If you use alot of different flavors of juice, you may want a Echomizer for each one.
B) If you vape different nic levels through the day you may need different Echomizers for each of those.
c) Do you plan to clean your Echomizers or toss them? I get a good week off a constantly used Echomizer at
50pg/50vg(which is more vg and thicker and harder on cartos than most mixes) If I clean them, I can get at least
that again. Most kits anymore come with 4 or 5 Echomizers which is easily going to last at least a month.

5)Get more juice than you think. Trust me you are going to LOVE your Echo, and will burn through juice faster than you think.

I hope this helps. Welcome to the Echo thread and PLEASE ask any questions. We are here to help. Let us know when you get it.

Nice job, Los Maurader!
Any 808 product is compatible with the echo. I use mine 85%, only using a manual to drip test juices and when I want to vape something at high watts. A five pack is a comfortable monthly purchase. They should last all day 3mls is a lot of juice to go through in a day, unless you are vaping a high volt PV. Having one to spare when it's time to order more or if you want to attempt washing them. The only report I have seen of the echo going off by itself was from somebody getting careless and getting juice in the battery.
If your current PV is also an 808, you can use some of the old cartos to test new juices. Mountain Vapor has 808 clearomizers that hold .5ml and are perfect for juice tasting. Good luck.

Without alcohol as the final rinse, it will take a few days for a 3ml cart to dry. Also, the boil method just boils the juice in its own liquid. It has to be rinsed and repeated several times and I have never gotten an echomizer working right again after that. The flush kit sold at Smoke Tec pulls hot water through and out and you can do it till the juice is clear. http://www.smoktek.com/CartomizerAtomizer-Cleaning-Kit--With-10ml-Control-Syringe-Luer-lock-compatible-wcleaning-tubes-and-instructions_p_107.htm
If you have any cartomizer protectors that come with the 1ml cartos, I can point you to an oral syringe at wal mart but you need the plastic tubes like the cartomizer condoms to get them to work right.
I have enough in rotation to let them air dry but folks have had good results by placing them on a cookie sheet and baking them on a low setting.
The best I personally have been able to get is a cart back to about 90%. Where it takes an echomizer a day or two to really reach it's prime vape, it seems to take another day after it's been washed. (surface tension? Filler too clean to absorb juices properly?) I usually toot on it a little at night and top off for a day or so before it's ready to be put back into full rotation.
It's why there are purists out there who don't wash. A $3 cart lasts a week. But for me it's a weekly ritual that takes 5 mins per carto of hands on time, so why not?

Excellent info; thanks, as always, Charlz. I guess I will put aside any that I want to clean out and buy the SmokeTek kit when I feel flush again :)

Curious - how many cartos do you have in rotation? I am still in the heavy experimentation phase - sitting here at work with FOUR 3mls fully loaded, loving them all, and switching among them. There are another three at home with other juices, then there's my hubby's Camel/tobacco penchant. I'm scared we're gonna run out, so I keep going online and ordering another brace.

I have 6 echomizers at the ready. (Three are rotated daily and three more are filled and waiting their turn-two of them have been washed and marked with a piece of tape and are getting back to normal.) Five are cleaned and waiting. Two are in the wash pile and two are hidden away, never touched. Thats 3 five packs bought in a month and a half. Two came with the kit, one was doa and another I ruined during a night of tinkering.
I'm really not as organized as this post seems, it took me a good 10 mins to do this roundup. You actually just helped me organize my mess a little.

Thanks for the great info guys. I'm almost too sold on the echo and don't want to get my expectations unrealistically high, can anyone give input on the down sides to one or any known issues?

Also, can anyone suggest a companion pv, I'm thinking something smaller maybe something also with 808 connections...I have the blu now which I don't think is actually 808 (could be wrong) but when I upgrade my gf will mostly be taking over the blu. A manual would be a good idea for testing juices etc.

I'm definitely going to be needing a collection but don't think I'm ready to go for the large heavy hitter side of that collection yet.

Also I read further up in this thread (I think-big thread) that there are multiple auto echo batterys out there protected/sealed and not....which one is the standard now and where/how do I know ill be getting it.

You'll know when you get it. The center post on the battery will either have a pinhole or not. A solid one is the drip protected kind. It's still in crossover phase so you may be able to ask a supplier if they have an old one if you want to use 510 adapters and 901 attys. Or take a dremel to put a slot in the connector of an adapter. That's the only downside I see right now. There are lots of places to get manual 808 batteries in the 280mah range. You can search. Madvapes has cheap hardware. There is also smokeless image, V4l, elite vaporworks. 808 is a pretty popular thread type.
I've been told the Blu can take 510 hardware, you just can't charge it with a 510 charger because the polarity is reversed on the threading.

I can't for the world think of any downside of the Echo. I guess charging time is rather long. Thats because they charge on 150mah chargers. This can take 6-8 hours. The up side is that the batteries overall lifetime is extreemly long. Much longer than any other Ego or fat bat style. You can get a 300mah charger from I believe Mountain Vapor. This would make charging like 3-4 hours.

Oh yeh, the tips are realy soft and fall out, so most of us buy some 801 drip tips that stay in them better. If you got a few extra bucks maybe buy a couple if you would like to Keep the Echo in your mouth cigar style like me. You can also just push the stock rubber tip in realy deap. Then they dont fall out, and won't even hurt anything. Just DON'T ,don't ,dont, drip into your Echomizers. Take them off and fill them, whipe of any dribbles, and put them back on. Those darn drip tips look realy inviting to drip in, but our wonderfull Echos die when the battery posts get wet, and if any juice goes down the center hole in the Echomizer from "direct dripping" you have to order the smallest caskets.

Other than that, you are just going to be in auto vape heaven. I can't wait to hear you got it.

The autos are not sealed. They are drip protected. Only a manual battery is sealed and can be dripped into. You should take a second to wipe off the battery threads with isopropyl alcohol before it hits the charger. (moist never drippy) It will help with the overall performance anyway. I do this with sealed and unsealed batteries. An occasional drop always seems to make it to the connector no matter what throughout the day. With the drip protected battery it is less likely to find it's way into the battery because the airflow holes are moved to below the post.
The unprotected batteries still seemed hard to kill. The hole is barely a pin hole.

Has anyone found a carto or atty that produces the same flavor and TH as the echomizers both single and dual coil? I'm about to place another juice order and am looking for something to try everything out on. I already have some boge 3 and 2 ohm cartos and they are a good size but I don't feel like the flavor and vape temp are quite the same. And also, has anyone found adapters that work? I don't mind cutting up some more but I'm about to move and my dremmel will not be readily available for a couple months. Thanks for the help!
