Hey everyone,

I was looking at the empire mod today and after some reviews I must say I like it, however, there is not much info to find on the unit as well as I can't find a sub-forum of empiremods anywhere and wanted to see if any of you own this unit and what do you think about it?

All I found was this

YouTube - ‪The Empire from empiremods.com‬‏

What about the GLV 3 another nice looking mod. Price is for sure up there but it looks quite nice.

I don't like the fact that the top part seems to get obvious scratch marks which already makes me
want to pass on the unit. The new glv3 looks nice though

Do you have one or know someone that has one and actually seen the scratch marks? And what do you mean by scratch marks...from what...being in pocket or ??? Any info would be greatly appreciated as I was wanting to get one.

If you click on the link I posted from YouTube you will see another review in the bar to the right on YouTube. A dude with a hat an he said that the upper tube will show marks after while due to screwing off the bottom tube. Already reason enough for me to not spend $100+ on it even though it looks pretty nice.

I've got one. Been using it for a few weeks now, and I don't have any scratches in mine whatsoever. That's unusual for my mods as I'm pretty rough on them. My Reo Grand looks like it was involved in an explosion.

The Empire is a great mod. Its ability to take almost any battery is a really great feature. The button is a little different, being on the bottom, but it is very easy to use and feels very natural after about a half a day. Passing on it because it might get scratched is silly. There is no mod anywhere in existence that is immune to scratching. Besides, a little metal polish will take out any small scratches.

I don't think it is silly at all but I do value your statement a lot. The Precise, Reo, Provari etc they all don't end up getting scratches due to screwing off/on a part. I am just not willing to spend $100+ if at any point the unit starts showing scratches not because of my way of taking care of it rather because it just happens with the unit. Nevertheless the unit looks really nice.
