So Canada post is "back to work" and still has not delivered my last shipment of juice I ordered. I had been conserving what little juice I had left at that point... But a vaper can only do so much..

Yesterday (Canada Day) a few months before my 2 year "Vaperversary" I finally ran out and found the temptation for a cigarette unbearable...

It's amazing how 2 years of being smoke-free suddenly means nothing when you need to get "The Fix" and sooner than later I ended up with a cigarette in my mouth. So it looks like I am starting over, all because Canada Post employees (whom were paid well in the first place) decided to go on strike.

I suppose now all I can do is hope and pray that Canada Post will deliver my juice early next week... Because the smell and taste of analogs is almost too much to bear as well....

If you're desperate, hit up one of the canadian vendors (Juicy Clear and Vaporium come to mind). Maybe they'll still ship courier to you. Might have to pay a premium, but at least you know Customs won't be touching it.

Sorry to hear about your situation. If it's any consolation, at least the reason for going back is you've run out as opposed to just falling into your cravings.

I appreciate that, and I suppose that is a positive thing that I gave in to my addiction to nicotine rather than just a compulsion to smoke.

I recently moved to the Ottawa Valley in Ontario, so my best and quickest bet is to get someone to bring me to Ottawa so I can meet up with the Capital Nic Fit Crew but I doubt that can happen. Courier services did pass my mind though, but some of the horror stories here kind of kept me away from those services.

Just to point it out Canada Post employees were on a "rolling strike" causing only slight delays, the corporation (i.e. multi-millionaire bosses) locked the workers out and forced the end of mail delivery. Keep in mind the Corporation is run indirectly by the government as is Health Canada who is making it impossible for your local corner stores to stock e-liquid in the first place.

I'd bet they are both quite happy to be getting cigarette tax royalties from you again though. Let's hope you get your juice soon and can stop needing to give them them their bonus pay.

Sorry to hear that, that really sucks.

Out of curiosity what strength are you vaping? I've been trying to gradually reduce my nic strength so that some day I might not have that craving anymore, were you trying to do the same or were you satisfied with your nic intake?

I usually vape around 18-24 mg, and have tried once in the past to completely quit the nicotine without success, I am certainly going to give it another shot here as soon as I get in more juice. I think I've learned my lesson! lol

I agree with you there, but imho I don't think Canada Post should be allowed to strike at all. Snail Mail is considered an essential service and CP is a governmental corporation, so for either the employees OR the corporate big wigs to call any caliber of a strike is out of line.

I knew the result would be a "back to work" order from our government for these reasons.. and now they are making people like us pay the price (like we always do) for their laziness, greed and indifference to the Canadian People.

EDIT: BTW, they aren't getting any cigarette taxes from me still :) I went to the reservation

What I would do, just to cut down on the total number of analogs in the interim, go to shoppers and get some VG and PG... mix it 50/50 or whatever and vape on that inbetween.

This is my exact plan for when I do have some juice. I will cut my juices with 50/50 VG/PG gradually until they are almost nicotine free. Hopefully I can locate a shoppers in one of the towns around here for the PG and will hit up HappyVaper for some flavouring.

Between the lockout and HC, I decided I am going to make sure I have at least a 6 month supply of e-liquid on hand as well as plenty of spare attys, batts etc for both Greg and I.

This has been a very bad week for me and a couple of times I "thought" a cigarette would be better. My mind tells me, Just a couple to calm my nerves. So far I have been able to fight it. That's with vaping so I know what a grasp the cigarette addiction has on some of us.

I hope you don't beat yourself up Noiz - use the experience to appreciate the benefits of vaping you've gained in two years - you don't lose those benefits with a couple of days of smoking (out of desperation rather than choice, too).

I had a cigarette by choice the other day because I wanted to remember the volume of smoke I was inhaling/exhaling with a cigarette. In my quest for the "perfect" vape, I notice that I was perpetually seeking a bigger, better, thicker cloud of vapor to exhale, and was perpetually needing to buy the "newest", "latest", and greatest device, carto, tank, liquid....and on and on.

All I wanted when I discovered e-cigs, and all I still want my e-cigs for, is to replace cigarettes. That was why I started vaping. I actually forgot how little volume of smoke a cigarette produced - until I reminded myself by having one. I didn't enjoy it and the taste it left in my mouth and smell on my fingers was not pleasant.

Recently I became intrigued by what you and others were saying about Bloog/Volt and I had to find out why so many were raving about such a small e-cig. I thought I had found my holy grail with the eGo T - until I tried Bloog. I've been using it as my all day/every day device and have retired everything else. It is the closest thing to a real cigarette I've ever had and having a cigarette confirmed that for me! More often than not we compare our current vaping preferences, to previous vaping preferences. When you compare or contrast something to a real cigarette, it's easier to return to basics!

Just my .02 cents!

Thank you everyone for the kind words and encouragement. I really was feeling quite down that after all the progress I made, I got stuck back on death sticks. I finally see my package is "Out For Delivery" and I should by all means have my juice today.

I KNOW I won't have a problem making the switch back. My lungs have been aching again (one of the reasons I quit smoking) my clothes all stink, the taste is horrendous (worse than almost any juice... almost any juice.. *cough* VK Arctic Peach *cough*) and doesn't give me the throat hit I need.

Most people have dreams about smoking when they are trying to make the switch from smoking to vaping.. I had the exact opposite oddly enough, lol. What Drips May Come?

this thread reminded me of why I need to keep a small reserve of cartos/attys and ejuice in a safe place that I wont ever go to unless the worst happens. Thinking 2 cartomizers/2 attys and two 30ml bottles of juice in a sealed box somewhere in the basement.. replace the juice on a schedule (6 months?) Put it somewhere that is easy to forget and when that moment happens I can say , "oh hell ya, I've got a backup !! " :)
