We have not won the battle yet with the FDA. We all know if we don't "fight" for Freedom...We will loose it. We need to continue the fight until we win. Defeat is NOT an option!

Collectively, the ECF membership represents the most informed group on the planet regarding Big tobacco, cigarettes, E-cigarettes, Big Pharm, the Government, and the FDA.

Many can't go through even one day without being concerned (worried) about what stunt the FDA will pull next and if they will end up banning the sale of E-cigarettes.

I do not have any "contacts" inside the FDA or privy to unique "inside information" not available to the general public.

Recently, for a number of common sense reasons, I came to the conclusion that the FDA will regulate but will NOT ban the sale of E-cigarettes.

The "cat is out of the bag". The public has now been exposed to the Truth, the popularity is immense and the market is exploding. Popular Christmas gifts this year will be E-cigarettes. Just to mention a few.

We all would enjoy hearing from others who agree the FDA will NOT ban the sale of E-cigarettes.

You're right, they won't ban them but regulating them as a drug delivery device isn't good, either. The best hope we can have is that they will be classified as a tobacco product and then we can look forward to being taxed to the hilt.

This is what I see happening too.

I think they would have already found some sort of evidence (made up or real) to ban them if that's what the FDA truly wanted to do. I am not totally against some sort of regulation to ensure the user's safety, but I don't trust that we will still have the luxury of picking and choosing our juice flavors and nic levels that work for us. And, as Luvs5rugrats says, they would be taxed and probably end up costing far more than analogs.

I think as long as the tobacco companies are not getting a cut of this and if they see the profits on cigarettes go down significantly, we have to worry. I'm a cynic, but I think between big tobacco and big medicine, if they are not in on the e cig business, they will find a way to either stop it or regulate it to the hilt!

Yeah and if they do regulate, I'm imagining we will be stuck with something that resembles the BluCigs and NOT very satisfied at all- at least that's been my imagination working for the past 2 months anyways....... They will give us something not very effective (just like the patch and the gum) because they want us to fail at this and go back to the big, bad, money producing analogs.....just my opinion though

And of course the liquid would have to be FDA approved and only available through one of the FDA's sponsors. I'm sure Monsanto and the FDA already talked about this while playing golf.

There was a big stink on these energy drinks also. Now we have the new 5 hour energy shots. They say not fda approved either but I hear nothing about fda on them anymore.

The active ingredient in energy drinks is caffeine, and the FDA is one surly SOB until it gets its first cup of coffee in the morning.

i'm with that guy. years ago, the FDA and various groups were screaming bloody murder about the dangers of energy drinks and consuming large amounts of caffeine...granted, a lot of them contained ephedra, but people were concerned with those other chemicals too. people gotta fear something, and since energy drinks are so yesterday's news, it's time to pounce on e-cigs until something new comes out.

they can't classify it as a tobacco product really because theres no tobacco. we could always use the argument well what about caffeine? nicotine is no worse then caffeine are you going to regulate and heavily tax coffee now? if anything its going to end up with allot of .... hurt big tobacco companies because they are losing money and the government is losing money because we are all switching to vaping. and quoting "Heartbskts" on this that if they do take over my opinion is yes it will be a pos and will be nothing that we want out of it just to get us back to analogs.its all about the dollar to them and if something threatens that much money and our governments money then our "freedom" is going to be put into jeopardy on the situation and we will lose unfortunately. theres allot of politiions even who get so much campaign support from big tobacco that yea theres going to be "biased" opinions on voting if it gets to that level of discussion/ regulation. our best bet is to get more educated (meaning quantity not quality theres allot of wicked smart people here ,i love it ) people to see where we are coming from and learn about e cigs. write attorney generals ,write states men, write doctors, write everyone we can. i know i may be new to this but i love it already and will be getting so much more involved in this because i find it so much better than smoking and im happy i made the switch and i actually feel better than when i did smoking so thats a huge plus too. idk just my input on this =P

This may seem like a noob question but I have to ask, what is the difference between an e-cigarette and any pipe I can get at any "head shop"? Honestly, aren't they both "drug distribution devices"? Aren't they both classified as "devices that distribute nicotine"? Yes, I know that isn't what many of these pipes are used for but, that is why they can sell pipes!

The juices with nicotine may be regulated but, I don't see much issue for the e-cigs.
