Bringing to the front (again!)...

Dear ECF members and visitors,

On August 8th the FDA will close the comments on its proposed deeming regulation.

This regulation will profoundly affect the future of the industry, and as it currently stands, this means 99% of available products are likely to be removed from the market.

So far, not nearly enough vapers have submitted their testimonies to the FDA, and it is essential that all who wish to see vaping remain a viable alternative for smokers.

That means you.

It needn't take long to comment, and I've put a guide on vaping.com, based on CASAA's latest call to action.

Please spend a few minutes composing your own comment. And remember, this really is your final opportunity to have your voice heard before the rule is made. Your comment is important as, by law, it has to be considered as part of the rule-making process.

Many thanks,

Oliver (SJ)

Are you willing to take the chance that people will do this for you?
Are you willing to take the chance that there are enough people doing this for you?

I'm not. I am fighting for me, you and every other person that wishes to use a viable alternative to smoking. I am fighting for future generations.

Although I'm only a vaping newbie (30-days vaping, 30-days analog free!!), I made a submission as well.

I was a (heavy) 1.5 pack a day smoker for 16-years. Tried multiple products to quit, many more than once, including all the mainstream offerings as well as some oddball stuff based on other people's suggestion. Nothing came close to working.

When a co-worker introduced me to electronic cigarettes, I was skeptical, but after some research I decided to give it a try. Finished my last pack of cigarettes and started vaping. Haven't had a cigarette since, and was completely amazed (and still kind of am) at how easy it was. Not everyone has this same experience, but I had no cravings and no symptoms to speak off. It's now been close to 2 months, I've already stepped down my nicotine dosage, and will be taking another step down soon.

Even if I can't cut out the nicotine completely, I'm OK with that. I enjoy the act of smoking, and with vaping I can continue to enjoy it without the extreme health consequences of cigarettes. I feel better, breathe better, have more energy, am enjoying my rejuvenated senses. The plethora of flavors available is a great perk that helped keep my resolve during the initial stages of quitting smoking. Why would I want to go back to that disgusting cigarette when I can vape a subtly flavoured delicious juice?

If there is draconian regulation put in place which over-taxes vaping and lumps it in the same group as tobacco cigarettes, I will be very disappointed. Under no circumstances will I go back to cigarettes, which means I would have to turn to darker markets to find my vaping supplies.

The potentials health benefits, and subsequent economic benefits of ex-smokers not putting strain on healthcare systems, vaping has the potential to cause a global paradigm shift. I implore you, not just for my sake, but for the sake of the greater good, don't be rash and heavy-handed with the electronic cigarette regulation.

Okay so dumb question. I want to support vaping (obviously) but I actually picked up vaping 9 years after I quit smoking. I reeeeaaaaalllly wish vaping had been around then but I had to do it the hard way. The reason I vape is because it gives me even more pleasure than smoking did with none of the ill effects of smoking. Is it worth noting my experience to the FDA or will it do more harm than good? I absolutely do not want my right to vape taken away from me. I would say a good 85% of my friends who were smoking switched over in the past couple of years but I can only speak to my own reasons for wanting to keep vaping. Thoughts??

Yes, post that! Everyone's experience no matter how different from the "norm" of vapers is important!! :thumb:

OK, you started Vaping and that's YOUR right. But if Vaping was not available and you wanted to blow smoke out, what options would you have except igniting some tobacco? You could certainly say that Vaping saved you from being tempted to take up smoking a stinky again.
