Hi All

Well its been 18 hours since I had my last real cigarette and man I tell you its been difficult with having two kids running rampage about the place

I got up this morning.....with a total mind set of not smoking a real one, reached for the Super slim ecig and had a few puffs when I felt like it during the day and I can tell you, its certainly a weird taste and a weird experiance after being a 20 to 25 a day roll up tobacco man... very plastic taste to it all but maybe thats just what I have to put up with for giving up

Oh well will have to see if I can stick with this, not overly keen on the plastic taste, must be better for me in the long term not smoking all them chemicals

Yeah, I get the plastic taste too sometimes. I've started my juice collection and I add to it whenever I can. Some of the ones I've tried are just awful, however, quite a few have been a real treat. Try and find flavors that keep you entertained and also remember, your taste buds are fried from smoking analogs. Your sense of taste will return after a while of smoking an E-cig. You'll trip out too when you realize it. Everything starts tasting sooo delicious.

Have you tried dripping? The reason I ask this is because this changes the flavor (it doesn't sit suspended in a plastic fill material).

Could it be the filler in the cart?

edit: did you blow out the atty? Could you be tasting the primer fluid that encases new attys?

Using a new atomizer will def give you a bad taste until is it cleared if the primer. The suggestion of dripping directly onto the atty is also a great way to remove the cartridge and filler from the equation. Could be the juice, too.

You might be tasting some of the batting in the cartridge burning (which isn't good), in my experience prefilled carts don't wick especially well particularly if you are hitting it heavily and not giving time for the juice to work down towards the atomizer.

I would suggest looking into either dripping (generally the best cleanest taste) or Cartomizers as I understand from reading around here that they do a fairly good job of keeping the atomizer wet.

There are a lot of choices when it comes to vaping and the variety of flavors available are pretty much limitless. And definitely don't feel like you have to stick to tobacco like flavors, there is so much more to choose from.

Another thing that might help you get through the initial withdrawal would be to see your physician about a welbutrin prescription assuming you aren't one of those rare people who react badly to it, it really helps to take the edge off and will help to fill some of the voids created by the absence of all the other things that cigarettes have that vaporizers don't.

Finally invest in a good PV what you have now is ok for while you wait for a real device but honestly they lack the staying power of a better vaporizer.

The key IMO is to keep plenty of supplies and parts around so you are never in a situation where you've just used your last atomizer or last drop of juice and have to wait 2-3 days for more supplies.

I'm kinda new at this also, but have had problems with new atomizers. Really bad burn taste if the manufacturer uses a lot of primer. I now clean all atomizers before the first use, especially the larger tank and mega atty's. They tend have a ton of primer or oil in them from the manufacturer. I use an ultrasonic cleaner but any cleaning method should do the job.

Your post title made me realize that we need to work on a song for the end of the year.....

Seriously, you shouldn't really get any plastic taste. Also, tried an Atty rather than a carto? The atties are made of metal. If you direct drip into it, you will get the cleanest taste (as a test). Also, a drip tip will eliminate any cartridge-plastic-taste.
