Had lunch with my non smoking 78 year old mom the other day and she was bemoaning the fact that she hasn't been able to get her flu shot yet. I told her about the propylene glycol study and she said she would call me if she started to feel "flu-ey" so I could come fix her up with a PV. I use PG juice, have vaped since March and have not been sick with anything. Can't wait to see how this plays out.

It's funny you put this poll up. I was thinking the other day how since I've been vaping, I haven't been sick at all! Over 115 days and not even a sniffle. Now this might not sound unusual, but during the year before I started vaping, I had been to the Dr. over 6 times with colds and infections. I literally was getting a cold every month. (I have 2 grandmonsters that bring home every germ there is). Someone said that maybe I'm healthier because I stopped tobacco, but I wonder. My son-in-law was just diagnosed with H1N1 and I'm not worried at all. Vaping or Lack of Tobacco? who knows.

I got a flu-like virus about a month after I quit but nothing since despite many people I know having flu and cold. It wasn't normal flu, maybe swine flu considering the symptoms all match up according to the NHS site - I wouldn't over estimate the usefulness of PG in killing viruses since a lot of them come to us through touching surfaces and then via our hands and we don't vape onto surfaces or hands. It will be very effective verses airborne infection though.

Since it's been shown in many studies that smokers are either equally or more prone to the flu, if we are to extrapolate anything from this poll, it would obviously be about the obvious and well documented immune-building properties of PG since that is the only common factor that exists in this group as opposed to the smoking group and/or the non-smoking, non-vaping group. Hopefully everyone who voted does use PG or else we have to further refine the study to see the effects of VG on the flu virus.

I just did it out of curiosity. I'm not saying that this poll will tell us if PG is a way to stop the flu virus. It might give us a little bit of insight though.

Even if a unusual trend was to be observed, correlation!= causation. IE, it's pointless. But hey, so far, how do the numbers compare with the prevalence of flu in the general population, as far as insight goes?

By extension, we all need to go see as many concerts as possible to maximize our PG exposure via fog effects.

Funny you should say that.. my son does the lights and fog effects at many concerts. Last time he was home he offered to get me a 55 gal. drum of PG. Perhaps I should take him up on it and fog this place up. :p
