The fruitiness wont go AWAY!

So a couple weeks ago I started using the Mini again with my pass-through. I left some fruity sweet juice in it. After a thorough cleaning I figured it was good to go...nope. All I could taste was the fruity remnants. I figured the carto by this point was also contaminated, so I decided to vape through it untill the carto needed changing...plus I wanted to see if the fruity ness would flush through on its own..(note, I didnt change the bottle or tube at this point..)

Fast forward some...I decided to change out all the guts, feeder tube, bottle, o-ring and cap, along with a new carto. I gave the 510 connector a thorough blast with steam, soap, water, then soaked the whole mini in alcohol.

Dried everything out, put on some Noalax, filled a new carto and new bottle.....first vape...BOOM FRUITYNESS!!!!

That was a few weeks ago....Ive been through probably 15ml (my mini is my stay-at-home mod..) Many different cartos experimenting, and a few more cleanings...STILL have the fruityness!!!

I dont know what else to do short of getting a new Mini, and I fear that wont even fix in

Usually the steps you took to clean it will do. Maybe some of the juice was around the gasket in the connector when it was sitting.

You should give Robert a call and see what he would recommend. I think at this point that would be your best bet.

Dang, I was afraid to hear that! I dont want to be without the Mini! I just dont get where this juice is hiding! What is the connector gasket made of?

What you posted above is exactly one of the reasons people have extra Reos. Or at least I did any how. Some fruit flavors are hard to get out, I have had the best luck with using 91% Isopropyl Alcohol rinsing the heck out of it and letting the bottle and tube soak for a good long while.

I just dont get it! Its so bad, that its pretty much like vaping the fruity juice alone, I can barely taste the actual juice in the carto/bottle!

Edit: Just realized this was a little over the top, but I still taste it a LOT!

I am not sure what the material is on it. It is just puzzling me that replacing what you did that the flavor is still there. Soaking it all in alcohol overnight should have got out the flavor. I am just at a loss here. That is why I said just phone Robert.

I generally remove the old tube bottle cap and o ring . I then clean the whole mod with alcohol I poor alcohol into the reservoir to completely flush the brass feed tube. Install a new tube bottle cap and o ring . If this doesn't get rid of the flavor I am at a loss. Keep in mind I only do this for customers I only fill my bottles with HG

I put AVE PG Hype in my mini now and then. It takes a couple of weeks or longer to fade away. If i want it to go away faster, I have to just switch to a strong mint juice (massive choco minit, for instance), or an even stronger fruity juice like blueberry crumble... Of course, those take even longer to fade away.

The good news for me is that I really like hype, choco mint, and blueberry crumble... I just can't switch from one of the mint or fruity juices to a tobacco. And, that's good information to have, really. it has made me very careful about my juice choices for the vvw.

And by that, you mean real lemon juice from a grocery store.....not a lemon-flavored e-juice suitable for vaping, right?

edit: Who knew the word "juice" could turn out to be confusing? Ha. I remember the first thing I learned about vaping is that I needed to forget all my old vocabulary lessons and tune in to the lingo.

I recommend vaping some Atomic Cinnacide that should take care of it or at least it will burn your taste buds off and you will taste nothing my

I am not sure if this is 100% safe but I dont see why not... You could try filling the connector with baking soda, letting it sit for a couple days then thoroughly cleaning it out. Just an idea. I am pretty sure the juice's flavoring has soaked in to the gasket. you could also try baking soda and water or something. I hope you get is solved!
Disclaimer: I have never researched the use of baking soda to clean a vaping device, or the safety of it. I just know it tends to soak up smells and nasties.

Yep, tried different tips too. The only thing left unchanged in the juice chain is the 510 connector. That must be where the contamination is coming from.

Tomorrow, this Mini will get the cleaning of a lifetime. I will throw every harsh chemical at it I have. Ill boil it for 2 hours, with flushing occasionally. Ill even try the green methods, with lemon juice and baking soda. After that Ill put it in the oven on broil for 1 hour to dry burn any juice off. Then into the wash machine with the whites and some bleach. After that Ill let my son use it as a pretend Titanic during bath time. Then spray it out with the pressure washer. After that Ill throw it on the grill for 20 more minutes to burn off any residue. Then into the dishwasher for 5 cycles on the "Pots and Pans" setting.

No, but I need to clarify what I said earlier.

After I replaced all the guts I stated that I instantly got the fruity taste. Well, this isnt exactly true. I got the fruity taste after I began sqonking.

I was just combating this. I switched over to that lovely AlienVision Hype and got tired of it after a few days. I'm pretty sure it's the tube itself. Give it a whiff. Even after running a bottle of tobacco I could still taste it. I gave it a dip in ever clear and pushed some through the tube with a syringe. The taste is gone now.

Also you can buffer through it with another flavor. Coffees seem to power through fruits while still being able to transition to other subtler flavors (I use it to go back to milder tasting tobaccos).

sounds you have done about anything and everything...how about drip the liquid on a clean atty on an ego batt or something to test if your juice is ok to begin with?
