The Great Atty Cleaning Debate.

Lets have it all discussed here. What is the greatest way to clean a atty?

1) PGA and what %
2) Everclear
3) Polident
4) Ultrasonic
5) Coke, Scope or some other natural cleaner
6) Coffee pot cleaner.

100% ultrasonic........enough said as far as I am concerned.

I use my ultrasonic also, though I must say certain flavors seem to hang on no matter how long you run it. Also, it strips the paint/clear coat off atties, so care is needed on the first cleaning

Does this work on cartomizers? Which brand/type of ultra sonic do you find work? I'm curious because 99% of the hassle would be removed from my life with automatic cleaning of my carto's.

what do you use in your ultrasonics? I have not found them to work that effectively.

I've had excellent results with vinegar and baking soda...rinsed with boiling water.

Juices are water soluable so just plain H2O works for me. I have not had a flavor that lingers. The key to an ultrasonic is buying a good one. I read a thread here on ECF about a year ago about the different types and what to look for but couldn't find it agin for you. Do a bit of searching and you may find it. $10.00-20.00 ultrasonic probably won't do it. If you turn it on and the water is not ripply on the top it isn't doing much.

I used to work with Ultrasonic units. We used to test them by placing a square of tin foil in the water and turning the unit on. We would then turn it off (inportant!) and remove the foil to check for holes. The ultrasonic would put holes in the tin foil if it was working properly. A good point from this, DON'T put your hands in an ultrasonic cleaner. I suspect that if it was powerful enough or you left your hand in there long enough you would get the same holes in your hand.......

I use plain hot water, it works just fine for me.
