The Great Debate: SS mesh VS. SS rope

Although my heart will always lie with my drippers, I usually use a genesis style rba for my car. In my experience, most genesis style attys work extremely well with SS rope, my rsst has had a rope wick in it for the last year it it still vapes like a champ. What have you found to work best in your genesis attys?

I wrap my SS rope with mesh. Best setup ever. No dry hits, I find I tip too much, out of habit, and flood the deck! I also use ribbon kanthal and a bigger air hole. This is the setup I use on all my genies, although I did just set one up with a micro coil and cotton.

I do, 400 to be exact. I usually run a .3 or .4 ohm micro coil on it and no dry hits to be found

For me, while ss rope wicks great it takes too long to heat up producing an an unsatisfying vape.

Im a SS rope user,and its all i ever use,i just wrap the top if the wick with mesh and im good for life.

I have switched to cotton in my RBAs. Hits a least as hard as my drippers with way more vapor than mesh or rope. But, I liked rope wrapped mesh before I switched. Still use a few strands draped in the wick holes to facilitate the juice to "decant", or another way to say it, flow more easily to the cotton on the atty deck.

I use cotton in RDA's...when I use them. But when it comes to genny's, I prefer wicking performance to vapor output so it's rope all the way.

I just built my rsst using ss rope wrapped with ss mesh and damn it works well

Mesh. No dry hits. Ever. Great flavor. Easy to prepare. No need to tilt. The closest thing to a problem I have with it is over-wicking.

Some guy on ECR said he was going to send me some rope because I was so vehement that mesh was better, but it never came in.

Exact opposite for me, SS mesh by itself sucks. Its ok with an ekowool sleeve and awesome with ss rope in it

I recently figured out what I did wrong when I set up mesh in my RSST... Forgot to torch the mesh and had a very metal taste for 2 days... Torched the mesh and problem solved... Now I think my juice tastes too good!!! I do however want to try rope though.

That's next on my list! If I ever buy something else from a vender that also sells ceramic.
