hi guys.. newbie here..
into vaping for nearly a month now, really like the varieties to try. not to mention being able to stay off ciggys as well.

been watching youtube on setting up of coils, SS mesh, SS rope etc.. thot I try them out,
but alas, SS mesh/rope taste terrible! well not so terrible, but at least with cotton I can taste the different ejuice I got.. SS I taste nothing! wicking ok cloud ok.. just that for cotton the taste comes thru..
Fwiw I m using 28 guage kanthal 6-8 wraps, no hot spots.. oxidised the SS too..

saw reviewers on youtube for SS mesh/rope setup and they 'raves' on how much flavour they got..? what gives?

cheers

oh btw I m using mech mods w genesis atties..

Did you use a torch on the ss mesh to burn off all the impurities? Torching also creates a layer of oxidation which keeps it from shorting. Same thing with the ss rope. I use both and have no issues. Great taste as long as they're wicking good. Gotta use the "genny tilt" to keep it wet.

I use SS mesh in my dripper, sometimes as it takes longer to coil but you never have to change anything so pros and cons to building. The taste to me is cleaner and I get more tones out of the juice, but it does have a slight underlying taste although I don't mind it. If cotton works better for you stick with cotton as we are all different and getting what works for you is the important bit, ignore what others say you don't have their taste buds.

Organic cotton balls. 80 count bag at Walgreens $3. Once you get the hang of being able to change the density of the wick with cotton (great, great, great grandma's spinning wheel) it changes the liquid flow rate and retention. Once it's really used up just pull it out. Iso and tootbrush the coil. Quick burn off and brush again. Tada...brand new shiny coil. Now put in new wick and go. Takes all of one minute.
