Can anyone verify if this mod is pretty good, I was interested in it because of its battery life and compact design. Has anyone tried it ?

This is the V-mod XL, seems better then the gripper. It can hold a bottle of liquid too.

Hey ShaneBlack: I have both! I would recommend either! Both fit in the pocket with ease! The V-Mod I have the standard size with two different Color Bodies. Felt I didn't need the larger size in V-Mod the standard held enough liquid for my purposes and going with the XL defeated the Steathyness I was looking for! Being a Bottom feeder it makes it easy to fill the Atomizer or Cartomizer with just a little squeeze!

I'm looking at getting another Gripper because I want to Mod it some. I want to open the chamber up just a little so that it will except slightly larger devices like the CE3 Clearomizer! Just need to clean out a little of the plastic in the well with your Dremel tool then you have sort of a mini tank set into it to Vape all day with an extra battery & Clearomizer you are set!!

At $15 dollars for the Gripper it's very affordable! I think it's great for going to summer festivals, outdoor music & sporting events and the like and if you had a few brews and accidently leave it behind you are not out a ton of dollars like some of our devices!

If you like these devices I would also recommend the Variable Voltage V6 Gripper at VaporBreak! At $16 dollars for a Variable Voltage device you might as well get two! I did and I'm real happy I did! These are great if you want more voltage for those devices that need a bit more kick to Vape properly! I use one of them daily with a Smoktech Dual Coil Mega Cartomizer! Another good in the pocket all day Vaping Device! With two 18350 Batteries in it, it Vapes on and on and on and on!

Just My 13cents Worth!

Yea the cheaper one, gripper, would be a nice device to have and use 510 threaded attys, cartos, clearos, tanks, whatever. Thanks for mentioning they don't use bottles. But one more quick question I had, How is the battery life on them ? Do they last alot longer then EGO batteries ? They take certain batteries which are marked 18000mah I think. Ego only goes up to 1300mah. So wouldn't this thing last for days ?

DO NOT GET THE SECOND ONE FROM VAPAGE! WASTE OF MONEY! It is absolutely awful. Nothing good to say about that device.

Hey PatMcgroin: Did you have a bad one? What's your experience? What happened that you think it's absolutely awful and a waste of money?????

I'm Vaping on mine in Black Mode right now blowing huge clouds of Boba's Vapor! Works Excellent just as advertised. Well Built in Fact Quality Built! The design is simple yet strong no hoses or pipes a direct plug in of tank to mechanism!

Unless you had a faulty unit I'm going to have to call you on it! I've had mine in my pocket Riding all over to unlock it and Vape away with No issues! Ever!

The only thing I would watch out for is Price try to get the best price possible! Other then that I think it's one of the better designs of bottom feeders out there! Definitely one of the more affordable ones that's for sure!

Again My 13cents Worth!

Yo Shane: The Gripper uses one 18350 style battery. You can use protected batteries in em if you want. Protected go up to 1200mah figure around 1 hour per 100mah so that's like 12 hours? I don't get that but then I vape hard on my devices! I definitely get more then 8 hours out of a Battery on the Gripper! It's been my experience that it does last longer then my three eGo 1100 Twists.

You can run any Vape device on it if you have the adapters to do so! I've Dripped, run Cartos, Tanks, Carto Tanks on the Gripper. I'm running an XL Cartomizer in it now it sticks up out of the Gripper about a 1/4inch I currently have a Skull Tip on it for the reach! It's pretty compact!

I tend to have multiple device at hand to Vape so while going through rotation it can be days before I have to switch out batteries but when I take it with I change out battery pack an extra and Go!

Thanks for clearing up some confusion, I get it now, the 18350 is not the mah but the type of battery. thanks.

I'm mainly on the road of EGO-D now. This is a spike/wick tank atty that can be rebuilt. To me I like cooler vapor, I've tried clearos but they always give me warm vapor. The gripper would be good for my 510-T attys though.

EGO-UFO/DIY -- Even more rebuildable. This thing is all about RBA.

They are only available in China so I'll have to wait awhile to get mine.

All up in your grill..
I use the VV version of the gripper and I love it. I have not tried the original gripper. Mainly because my preference is to use tanks. Still for $20 it's not much of a gamble. Just remember that you won't be able to use tanks without an extender. It has been my personal experience that extenders, adapters and other add on pieces tend to be problematic.

I have never used a bottom feeder so I can't speak on the second one. I will say that to me the notion seems like more trouble then it's worth when there are so many cheap and easy to use tanks on the market. I do however see the appeal of having something that not very many people have. So there is always that.

I have the "little Gripper"...great device! You can buy a couple of batteries and a dual (or more) chamber charger and just carry a battery or two with you when you go out if you are worried about the battery dying on you (be SURE to use a battery box to carry batteries!) My little Gripper is one of my "go to" APVs for going out where vaping might not be well received if done openly. Really love mine!

I have the Vmod too...only I have the XL version and I LOVE IT!!!!! Probably one of the very BEST APVs I have!! And I have a LOT of PVs and APVs, I promise you! All kinds from regulated, unregulated, VV and mechanical. There is a learning curve to using it...but it doesn't take long. The flavor and TH is amazing. I like a "cooler" hit too...so I use the 2ohm super shorty cartomizers, or the 2.2 ohm Silos from Vapage. You can use atomizers, too. You cannot use a wick style clearomizer on them. My Vmod is my top favorite and first in rotation device now...and has been for a month (since I got it) now. The Vmod is mechanical...this means that there are no chips or wires to fry and break. It also means you have a very big range of resistances you can try using....and the XL version is "kickable" (for variable wattage).

I have the VV Gripper and find it an excellent VV device. The body construction isn't the most sturdy, however. But with a little care it will serve well for a good long time.

I also have the Ovale V8 and V6. Both models are terrific, and are built more sturdy than the VV Gripper. They do have a "short protection" so they will blink at you if you take long draws, but that is about the only drawback with them. The V6 will not read your ohms for you nor does it have a voltage meter...like the V8 does. But they are excellent box mods!
