I've been vaping and off analogs for 10 months now so e-cigs are doing their job well. However, I must confess to getting really tired of the constant battle for a decent vape. Always fiddling with intrinsically unreliable devices and their flawed components in a often vain attempt to keep them operating optimally.

vaping would be far more enjoyable and hugely cheaper than smoking if only we could find the Holy Grail of e-cigs; an e-cig that gives fabulous flavour, huge vapour and 100% reliability.

My Twisp (Janty) Stick has many advantages but suffers from unreliable bodies (swopped out the body 3 times in the 3 month warranty period), and is very low on flavour. The flavour can be improved by converting to a 510 or fitting an M201 atomiser, but not enough.

My Smoore M201 is a flavour king and after using it, I can't vape the Stick anymore. However, the bulletproof old-design parts are no longer available and the new-design is horribly unreliable, eating expensive batteries and atomisers at an alarming rate.

Others I've tried and given up on are the 801 penstyle, the 510 in various forms and the J118.

So, has anyone found the Holy Grail of e-cigs?

I think the problem is that everybody's Holy Grail is going to be a little different. The other poster loves the 5V, but it's too much for me. Some people swear that the 306 is the Holy Grail because it's made to drip, but I'm not a dripper so that doesn't move me. Some have noted specific juices that fulfill part of the Holy Grail quest, but the ones that they mention have seemed wretched to me. Others need the throat hit to have their Indiana Jones moment, but for others it's all about the vapor. Some like a device combination that will give them super-heated vapor, others prefer a cooler one. Some need a juice feeder, others like the flexibility of switching juices throughout the course of a day. Some want a battery that lasts forever; others are willing to sacrifice that for something a little more discreet in size.

Much like there isn't one brand of cigarettes behind the counter at Casey's, I don't think you're going to find one e-cig that is perfect for everybody. Just continue the quest to find the one that makes the angels sing for you!

Well, requirements vary. I'm happy dripping (it helps me know when to put it down!) and I received my Janty eGo USB today and I'm over the moon with it. Vapes great, 12 hour + battery (for me) with integrated charger and PT function. Looks slick (stainless steel finish with metal drip tip) and the build quality is superb. Just drip into the tip and vape away, I never need to swap batteries or anything - just plug in and continue, in fact I never need to disassemble anything unless the atty blows. I'm getting strong, 100% consistent hits all day with lots of vapour and I have a new LR atty on the way to so it should get even better.

Honestly, if you'd have told me last year, when I was struggling with my M401, that such a thing would be around I'd have probably hibernated until it was released. I'm struggling to think how it could be improved, it's just about everything I could want.

I'm with SmpleSins - There will never be a Holy Grail, because everyone's definition is different.

I'm much simpler than most of the posters above. The plain ole' Kr8 does it for me. I get my throat hit, I get great flavor (for me), I get good enough vapor (I'm not a vapor "size queen"), cartos don't need too much fiddling, 3.7v is perfect for me, and with a PCC, the battery life is perfectly adequate.

I have yet to kill a battery, cartomizers are cheap and I can make them last by washing them. I have juices I like - RY4, Waffle, CoffeeX, Tasty Finger, Irish Cream, and Pina Colada are most of what I ever vape anymore.

I'm set.

I also have a 510, and a 510 PT - I like it, it's nice for not having to use up batteries, and the 510 atty is good. But where's my throat hit? Where's my flavor?

I have 901 atties that I screw on my Kr8's - I like it, it's a nice relaxed vape and has great flavor. But there's even less throat hit than the 510, and not as much vapor. Where's my throat hit, man?

I tried 5v - hated it. I tried LR's - nope, not for me.

I like all the stuff I have. There's nothing I don't use from time to time.

But my Holy Grail is a plain old Kr8 with some RY4 in it.

There's no Holy Grail as we'd imagine it, because every make or model of PV you'd care to name--big, small, cylindrical, rectangular, some with variable voltage, some not, some with a built-in gas tank, some not--share the same Achilles Heel, the same unreliable, flawed component: the atomizer. Remove it from your device--whatever device--and what you have left is essentally a battery enclosure.

Until the day someone stumbles onto the quantum leap that redefines fundamentally atomizer function as we know it, we'll be a fiddlin' with it...

I have found the best thing to do (for me) is to buy cheap parts and replace them often. I know that is not what people want to hear, but they are consumable parts. I buy cheap aties and just throw them out when they start giving me trouble. My cheapies tend to last me 2-3 months on average, and I pay about $5-$8 per atomize: Not the end of the world, when traditional cigs are $7 per pack here.

The best I've found so far is Missy's Wetbox. It's a bottom feed unit sporting a 3ml bottle you just squeeze into a 510 or 808 atty or cartomizer. It's palm-size small too. I'm using the E2 cartomizers. They don't burn like any of the others will. They are made like an atty with a ceramic cup. Even if a carto runs dry I can just squirt a shot of juice to it and vape on. Matter of fact I've been mostly filling them once and juicing them with the Wetbox a few times and keep on going.

i've got to say my Njoy Npro Duo has been fantastic and what's even better is I just acquired an accessory that is a battery that has an extendable usb cable coming from where the led tip should be. It plugs into any usb port and extends to like 4 or 5 feet then you just put on your cartomizer as usual and can literally vape all day without worry of batteries. Also I only have 8 cartomizers (i used 2 of my original ten to experiment with) and with a simple cleaning and filling technique i don't think I'll need to purchase more for quite a long time, I've already re-used a few of them at least ten times. I have two batteries that I keep charged at all times and have my usb plugin battery in my car and I'm basically never without the ability to vape. My two cents

I guess it's the M201 batteries that are driving me up the wall. They suffer from sudden death syndrome and they're not cheap to replace. I bought 5 about 2 weeks ago and 2 have already died. A third is flicker-vaping and will probably die altogether soon.
My holy grail may be to find a way to connect the flavoursome M201 atomiser to a large mod batt such as the 900mAH eGo batt, but I can't see any way of doing this, there doesn't seem to be an appropriate 510/201 adapter. Anybody know of one?

I'm with bass above...my V3 is my all day device, but had to use some 3.4ohm carto's to get to a vape temperature and volume that I'm content with. So basically, I'm using the equivilent of about a 5v device with normal atty/carto. The other staple in my collection is my RN4081...one of the classics. It has great vapor production and using a cartomizer makes it a 2 piece design and looks just like a real cig (white battery with tan carto). It's what I use when I'm out in public so I'm not looking like I'm hitting some sort of illegal device ;-P
