Jeffy, is this your first genesis device? If so, I wouldn't use that coil setup. Understand, I have not used 28ga kanthal, so take this for what it's worth. The 28ga is thick, making it harder to work with, and a 2/3 wrap of 28ga will make an extremely low resistance atomizer. My first genesis coil was a 4/5 wrap 32ga, and it was about a 2 ohm coil. Unregulated, it was a satisfying vape for me. I kear about extreme vapers using these low resistance coils and wonder if they have throats of steel and a wheel barrow for their batteries. If you make a .8 ohm coil and pop a newly charged AW IMR 18650 battery in your iHybrid, you will be vaping at ~22 watts, drawing a load of 5.25 amps. Seriously?! My next kanthal purchase will be 30ga, but I'll start with a 4/5 wrap coil and work my way down from there. I would not start with a 2/3 28ga coil. JMHO
on the "wheel barrow for their batteries" part... i dont get what you mean by this??? i use 2-18650s for a full days time of vaping.... i can vape a full tank on my ihy using 1-18650 with a .8 ohm before i have to change the battery.. im not trying to sound snippy or defensive just giving info on how long my batteries are lasting (with out a kick obviously)

It's just ohm's law. The 2 ohm coil I started with has a draw of 2.1 amps when firing. The ~.8 ohm coil has 2.5 times the draw. You have the advantage of practical experience over me, so I defer to you, Blaine, when it come to battery life. Battery life is, however, meaured in "mah" (milli amp hours). The higher the current draw, the shorter the battery life.

Wow that was only a 400 post catch up.lol

Hope everyone enjoyed their Turkey Day!!

I know I did mine. I also enjoyed my last Friday off for the foreseeable future. With all the Jager Bombs, Carish I-bombs (Irish Carbombs lol), and Chicken Killers added to my mom's good home cookin I had a blast! Having a bit of a lazy chill with the fam day today, watch a couple movies.

Grats to those that scored some good stuff on Black Friday. I'm happy with the little purchase I made though it wasn't a Dragon =(

After an afternoon with my Dragon, I have come to the conclusion that I need to lower my nic:ohmy: So rather than buy up my faves, I thinkl it's time to dable in DIY. So I got a couple questions maybe some Hybreeds can answer. What would be the main flavoring additives(sweetners ect..) i am going to need(vape mostly fruity flavors), or what would you suggest. Next is , does anyone do menthol? What would be better, the crystals or the premixed stuff, I need menthol as my stress releiver(close to the stinkies:laugh:)
TIA:)
i would go to Wizard Labs their supplies are cheap and top quality!!! I vape the same, fruity and menthol! i have never tried the premix, i use the crystal and dissolve it in pg :) i would do some research on the diy if you havent just learn the dangers of working with nic :) figure out what MG you want to vape at and pg/vg ratios then you can order the correct supplies to achieve those results... if you have any questions feel free to pm me

i totally agree :) but also with the low ohm coil I dont have to hold the button down very long to get a huge cloud, but with the high ohm coil i have to hold the button down for a long time to achieve the same vapor.... in the end i dont notice that much of a diff in the battery life i think it kinda equals out with short presses compared to the long presses, there is a little bit of a diff, but i only have 2-18650 batteries and both of those last from from 8am till i go to bed round 11pm to midnightish... and this stuff is all my opinion as I am not that experienced in the hybrid world, i have only been vaping RBAs for 3 months

I am running 28 ga with a 3/4 wrap, I love it and I am actually getting better run time from my batteries, not because they are lasting longer mind you, but because the lower coil I am getting a good vape from it for a much longer amount of time.

Of course! Shorter blasts! That would conserve battery life. I like a long slow draw... more like a pipe draw, I guess. Aren't these things great?! Set 'em up for your own style.
