My switch locking nut screws completely off the threads before it makes contact with the switch. Is there an adjustment I'm missing?

Again I'm new also but if I use my nippled battery in 18650 battery mode mine does also install flat top all is good think larger batt pushing switch further down causing it capt... Ok I'm new but it's what happened with me.

Thats why I wanted to use a kick It's supposed to stop the current if something is wrong.

Well I think the kick would have been taken out in this case and that's a 45-50 dollar loss. The spring on the side of the kick has to be negative or it gets fried. We use the IMR batteries because while Lady lost a few batteries they didn't go thermal and explode.

What's happening with her device is an extremely rare case and should never happen during normal course of operation. I simply couldn't figure it out over the phone. We pulled the entire thing apart and all the insulators are in place, no stray wires. The positive post does not seem to be touching the body in any way, shape or form. If I had it in my hands I could probably figure it out but we simply couldn't over the phone.

Luckily Faceless has a great warranty program and Lady will be up and running in no time. I wouldn't worry about something like this happening it's an extremely rare and odd thing.

Lady, I know you're sending your ihy to face and I agree that is what should be done at this point. I did want to say though that based on your pictures, your theory of a bad switch may just be true. Looking at the battery pic it seems that there is one central spot that keeps heating up and melting the plastic. If it were in the Atty, your whole battery would heat up and in turn shrink the red plastic all over, not so much in one space. If my theory is correct, you had it diagnosed before ever needing our help :)

Honestly today is a very bad pain day.
. . .
Talking about it every so often is actually a good way to release it mentally. It helps the screaming voice of pain in your head to quiet down for a bit, believe it or not.

Feel free to vent, babe. Apparently swearing loudly also helps a lot for some reason.

Dangit, I didn't get the HR yesterday, But after checking my bank i see it DID actually reserve the amount until the 30th.
So now I'm broke until then, and have no HR to show for it.. :(

That was only a surprise of 5 units, Thor, the main sale for the HR will be December 1st at 8pm central time.

are the illuminatis on schedule?

yes, I will always hit release date give or take 48 hours :)

Is it candy banana? Or ripe banana?

I prefer runts bananas, get to work

I'm not able to upload last night's show to YouTube, because I'm not allowed to per VapeTV rules.
(Even though they don't currently have a way of sharing them online...)

If anyone wants to see it though, hit me up with a pm, and I have a way. ;)

PM it to me please, I missed the first 15 minutes

A quick question for Face when he returns... it looks like the Spider LE had no anodizing inside the threads or the tubes, but my blue Dragon is fully anodized inside and out. The tubes are sanded on both ends to allow the edges to make contact with the switch and atty. Is there a noticeable difference in conductivity between the Spider and the Dragons?

Does the anodizing on the Dragons affect the use of a kick?

The only hybrid I have had to compare it to is a Zen mini, and it is leaps and bounds better when it comes to conductivity than the Zen was.

I have not metered the iHy yet.

The spider tubes were completed before I figured out the switch thingy, I changed it with dragons because there is no gap with kick and it will always have conductivity, dont worry, I know what I'm doing, king anodizer lol

I'm very interested in the 14500 version your working on. Will you be doing LE versions of it also?

No LE's for 14500, I'm too backed up with a huge plate to deliver, I'm working as fast as a 2 handed man can :)

proto of illuminati switch, more pics tomorrow night :) Gold pics!!

I had the same issue, but only after the nut started getting loose and cross threading. I'm not sure what causes this to happen. Maybe it's the aluminum becoming tarnished and creating an abrasive residue that grinds away at the threading... Just a theory. Anyway, It's on its way to TX at the moment for a warranty swap...

Faceless, have you given any thought to using stainless steel for future switches? Only reason I ask is that now that I'm stuck with just the Provari for the time being, I'm noticing how the bottom cap screws on butter smooth.

Hi everyone! I wanted to update you on my problem with my iHybrid. Poor EZkill volunteered to help walk me through some steps to take it apart COMPLETELY trying to diagnose what might be the problem. At first, he thought maybe the positive and negative posts were being connected by a wayward wire .... but I think he ruled that out. I learned a great deal about the inner-parts of the device, trust me! Maybe most of you could have done this easily...but I must not follow verbal instruction very well. I knew it was going to be nearly impossible for him to help me figure it out over the phone or computer.

To make a long story short,....Faceless is going to take a look at it. I went through 4 batteries. The 4th one was after I had disassembled, cleaned, re-assembled and re-coiled it...it dry fired the most beautiful coil. I thought we had fixed it because I didn't feel the switch heating up like before. EZ had me remove the battery though and check it....and DANG! Another one bit the dust!

I can't thank all of you enough for your suggestions and offers for help. I mean it :) I'm so grateful to have friends on here who jump in and are willing to give their time, supplies and advice to me without a second thought!

I'll keep you posted :)

(Not a good day for my batteries :()

You can salvage the ruined batteries by putting a heavy coat of clear nail polish or simply a piece of electrical tape on the exposed metal. Personally, I'd use the nail polish because the tape will eventually come off and it may make the battery too big to fit in the device, but both methods will work. Of course, this is only a temporary fix and it will eventually come off, but it will work for a while until you can replace them.

Don't they make a fuse called 2c or something? Seen it somewhere like 10 bucks and reusable..

The one I recommend is called the "Short Stop" by Holycron Labs. You can get it at many vendors for $15. It's a good idea to use something like it in ALL PVs that don't have internal protection circuits. There is one called "Vape Safe" which is also known as "2-cent for safety" available through CherryVapes.com for the same price. The reason i recommend the Short Stop is because it trips at 5amps where the VapeSafe trips at 6amp. While it's only one amp difference, that extra amp is more wear on the battery and the only way you're going to want to run at 5amps is if you're vaping 2 low ohm dual coil cartos on the same device, like with the new Dual Carto Adapter from Madvapes.com. Both will work well and keep your batteries in good shape. You can find a list iof vendors for the Short Stop at Holocronlabs – HolocronLabs Authorized Resellers and the VapeSafe at http://thevapesafe.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=19&Itemid=163 .

I love Gorilla Juice!!!! Dont let others fool you. Banana Tobacco. No one does it better than Alien Visions. I mean no one!! ;)[/QU;)[/QUOTE
I agree it's very good....iI even keep a bottom feeder loaded with it at all times. You may also wanna try "Poison Banana" from RAWRVapor.com. It's nothing like Gorilla Juice, but it's still very good.

Yes, I have thought about SS switch, but the new design will not have threading for a lock ring, it wont even have a lock ring but will still lock and its easier for me to make :) win win!
