Even easier... Cut a length of wire, go a little over on the first try, you'll figure out the right length by your second one..
Wrap the loose ends around the negative post and tighten to secure.
Put your Allen key in the looped end, keep some tension on it and start tightening. It will create a perfect twist and don't worry about the little open loop on the end since you're going to cut off the excess anyway.
And.....you don't need to be anywhere around a vice grip

Even easier, loop the wire around the short arm of the Allen key, hold the long arm between your fingers, and twist away.
