this stuff can be tricky but keep your head up and keep poking and test firing and poking and you can achieve greatness, trust me, this is about the 9th one i have ever done.

Hey Hybreeds! Whatcha vapin on in your beautiful iHys???????? I'm vaping Strawberry from DFW in my Fatty V2, waiting so ever anxiously for that Hell Raiser to ship! :vapor::vapor::vapor:

They are local to me. How do you like their strawberry? I haven't tried it yet. I am vaping their Sweet Tarts right now. It's pretty good. Anxiously awaiting my HR as well:toast:

Quick question: I've been using my Fatty V2 with silica wicks for a while, which was nice and flavorful, and I just recently switched to SS. I use SS in my DID clone and it produces mountains of vapor with superb flavor, but for the life of me I can't get a clean flavor out of the Fatty. I have inspected for hot spots but I can't find one. I have toyed with it for a while and still it has a strange metallic taste (not a kanthal vs nichrome issue, I always use kanthal). I taste mostly wonderful strawberries but then there's a slight penny taste at the end. Any ideas? Ps using 500 mesh with 5/6 of 32g kanthal at 3.2 ohms (which wasn't intended, I got crazy with the coil wrapping last night :))

Looks nice! Loving that last pic. That's about where I am with my preferred setup. Looks like a win to me Eric.

When my coil is working properly it is quite delicious :) Wish I had a quality juice vendor here in CO. Only physical shop options around here are Colorado E-Smokes and their juice is AWFUL. :( And cheers to being a future HR owner! :toast:

the only thing i can guess is new wick not broke in yet or if you drop your nic level it comes with less taste or flavor, when i make my own juice i have increased the flavor percentage due to the drop in the nic level to 12, other than that i'm not sure, new wicks usually taste like this but after the first half tank or so the flavor comes back, one other thing is if the wick is too hot = less flavor

That is a possibility. Also a possibility... Are you sure the wick isn't touching steel anywhere? Top cap? Tank bottom?

Well I did just make this wick last night and haven't used it too much today, so perhaps it's just breaking in still. I'll give it till the end of today and we'll see then. Thanks for the input :)

i didnt even realize that other screw was an open draw screw. do i just remove the positive post top and just screw in that screw? how does it work to make it open draw?

Good question I have not tried the small screw yet, the standard screw seems very open to me after using carto's. :vapor:
