I actually lost a Rottie to parvo a few years ago. She got sick all of a sudden, so I took her to the emergency vet. They kept her overnight and called me the next day to tell me she didn't make it.

It took me quite a while to decide I wanted to get another dog. I went really small this time, I have a Chihuahua named Xena. My son gave her to me for Christmas, and she's the best present ever!

Anyone have any experience with a dog with parvo? I have a 6 month old german sheppard, he got sick the other day, took him to vet, he has parvo, he didnt look good at all, the animal hospital still has him saying he isnt making progress, costing me $400 a day to keep him there, if it isnt one thing its another. So, how long before he gets better?

My parental units used to breed rotts.. a few of them got parvo and didn't make it.. one did tho all I really remember is we were giving her a lot of pedialite

He wouldn't eat or drink at all, he just kept walking out to the field and laying down, I thought maybe he just got sick from it being so cold out, so I put him in my barn with a heat lamp, when I went to check on him the next day I saw he was pooping blood, so I took him to the vet right then. They actually called and said he wasnt making progress and would call me in the morning, they say its expensive because he is over 50lbs.

So, what did everyone get for christmas? I got camping gear and an outside toilet, I think my wife is kicking me out of the house

Maybe she just wants you to put the seat down once in a while...

Glad the kiddos are doing better, watch out tho...takes about a week after before the parents start getting it. Time for vast quantities of OJ.
