ok my fellow hybreeders quick question as some know just got my first one, and seeing as its saturday morning what else have you to do lol
Q is tight wick or straw wick and which combination do you find best
IE SS size and Kanthal size

I liked them both, the Clearwater was my first melon and was good till I tried the Papa Smurf.
That is such a matter of preference, and what works best for you. I use 500 or 635 cut to a 2"x3" (5ommx50mm) square and pre-oxidize it (jack frost style), roll it to the same size as a qtip, oxidize it once more, three juice burns, twist a Petar K coil of 4/3, 30 ga kanthal around a qtip. throw the wick in, and vape.
Sounds like it, if you're used to a 4/3 30. I do a 4/3 30 and it measures about 1.3 ohm, which by reports is what most 4/3 rwisted 32's measure, so if I were you, I would start with 5/4 on 28.
I think thats called the peter k-man grruss. He is the first person I heard do that. I use a 400 fat wick 4/3 twisted 32 wrspped traditionally. As long as you dont wrap you coils to tight its easy. Save yourself the trouble and put a smsll bend in the top and bottom coils. Booyahhh

By the way if anybody would consider selling their new switch I will make it worth while. I can only pay with paypal so I cant order from yuma.
I've tried the three major styles of wick, straw, dual, and tight wrap. In my experience the last wick I made has been the best performing of them all. Its 3 inches of 400 mesh rolled so tight there's no central channel.
I'm vaping a high vg 30/70 juice and it's knocking my socks off, I know it'll be even better with 500 mesh. As for the coil, a good rule of thumb is the thicker the wick, the lower the resistance you'll need. It takes more heat to get a fat wick up to temperature... I'm current running at .8 ohms.
Btw, that .8 ohm coil is 28ga 4/3 offset wrap.
